GA-P35-DS3R won't go past 233 FSB??

I just bought a Gigabyte P35 DS3R with a E2160 @ 1.8Ghz. I got 2GB OCZ DDR2 ram which is at 800mhz:

MB GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R 775
CPU INTEL|PDC E2160 1.8G 775 1M
MEM 1Gx2|OCZ DII800 OCZ2P800R22GK

I was trying to get 3Ghz out of the CPU by raising the FSB speed, but it seems it won't go any higher than 2.1GHZ (233mhz FSB). Is this because of the memory? Would higher rated (1066) memory allow me to get more out of this CPU? I'm wondering because tom's hardware did a review of this CPU/board combo and said it was simple to get 3GHZ with 800mhz memory and stock cooling, but i'm having serious problems. The system reboots if i try anything higher than 233FSB (~900 ram speed). Anyone else have a similar setup, find anything out?? Thanks.

kingzzz is right. Your RAM is running at 900 already. Not sure if that board gives you the FSB:RAM divider control or just plain RAM frequency control. Either way, try to lower the ram down to around 800 "effective" (400mhz ram speed). If it gives frequency control, set it as low as it goes first, and then try upping the fsb until it won't go any higher. Then up the mem a bit and repeat the process until you find your highest stable setup.

Additional Comment:

Oh, and you may also try loosening the timings on the RAM to help increase the mem speed with more stability.

On this board, it's called SPD multiplier.

Setting it to 2 will give you 1:1.

What are the rest of his options homefry? Anything to lower it to less than 1:1 or is it only a multiplier?

2 is the lowest.

Setting this to 2 should do the trick.

Find out the highest FSB and come back to us.

Does that board have a PCIe/PCI bus that needs to be manually locked? Around 230+MHz is the spot where problems will occur from being too far out of spec.

Thanks for your help everyone! You guys were right on the money. I had to enable the SPD Multipler set options, and brought that down to 2. Now I'm running it at 3Ghz with no problems at all. The memory is @ around 830mhz and running fine.
