i set the fsb to 400 and voltage to 1.4v[cpu] . the system turns on but when i use orthos to test, the temp stays at 48*c then the system resets [in about 2 min]

Over clocking is not guaranteed with any particular settings, its up to you to find the limits/requirements of your components. I suggest you read some of the stickies to give you some more back round information. Start here http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...ad.php?t=79266 The rest of your system specs would also be helpful plus the settings for memory you are trying to use. |

when i had the cpu [e6600] in an p5w dh deluxe it went up to 4.0ghz [never tried any higher because the memory suffered].
system specs: e6600 evga 7950gt thermaltake toughpower 750W OCZ platinum rev2 ddr2 400mhz @ 4-4-4-15 [2.1v] watercooling---- swiftec storm[cpu] maze5[gpu] pa120.2[radiator] all on 1/2in ID tygon tubing p5k-e/wi-fi [LATEST STABLE BIOS] Additional Comment: i need a program to test my overclocking that gives simpler reasons why an overclocking attempt failed. im using ORTHOS right now and i keep passing the 'stress cpu with gromacs core' but im failing the ' small FFTs- stress cpu ' test. and for some reason i keep failing the ram tests. i got the cpu fsb at 400 i got the cpu voltage at 1.48v i maxed the fsb voltage and the northbridge voltage Last edited by towncarblue : 12-23-2007 at 01:09 PM. Orthos RAM tests ??? you mean BLEND/large FFT`s? as both still stress the CPU during these tests too.
To find out if it is the ram causing the errors return the board back to stock. Set the memory to the specified settings in the bios. Then run memtest overnight. http://www.memtest86.com/ This way your know you ram is good for what it says it is. |

Funny...I just clicked on it and it took me right to link
Go to http://www.clunk.org.uk and follow links for overclocking P5K board. Go to the forums for that information. Additional Comment: if it still doesn't work, go to a command prompt and fllush your dns cache by typing: ipconfig /flushdns - once thats done, restart your browser and it should work.
