I thought Gearbox was worst known for the Halo PC port? Though in its defense, it was better than the Halo 2 PC port :). Really, the main problem was the server-side netcode.

670 had a noticeable performance benefit over my 480, not to mention 100W lower power usage. 670 vs 580 should be pretty similar (just a bit less of a difference).

That 8 GB of ram is shared between CPU and GPU.

And the 5 in GDDR5 doesn't make it better than DDR3. They are semi-related, but GDDR5 is optimized for bandwidth while DDR3 is optimized for latency.
