mirror finished white water blocks

i just talked to the guys at D-TEK, they finally answered their phone. I called to see whats up with my order, which i found out is shipping today, so it should be here friday. I asked about the new WW they told me about last time and asked if i wanted to wait for that. since its been a month ago when i ordered they said it would be over a month before the new verion would be comming out, and they now believe it will be about a week and a half.

they said it will cost from 0 to 10 dollars more for the mirror finished version, and they improved the flow just a little bit also for more velocity, but they said its going to give about the same performance. theoriticly it should be better and it probably is on paper, but they said it will be about the same. i didn't feel like waiting 2 more weeks for my block since id be down a computer for too long. and NO COMPUTER MAKE PAINTPRO GO CRAZY so i just took the regular kind, since i will just do my own lapping. i know it wont be the same but i already bought the **** paper.

they said they have 500 of the new kind comming in and they are not taking any pre-orders. since they have a good amount they will not sell out right away, so no worries.

just thought id let you know for those people thinking about getting a WW within the next week, that you might want to wait a few more days so you can order the newer version of the WW

Why a week and a half?!? I was just about to buy one but now I want to wait but I'm going to be in Mexico in a week and a half, **** the luck. Oh well, are the regular ones in stock atm? Or are they just shipping backorders right now.

The mirror finish will offer you no noticeable increase in performance. Let's go over the value of a 0C increase for $10. Oh, it's zero. Mirror finishes are a marketing scheme, and it has worked very well for Swiftech and PolarFLO.

yeah i already pointed it out, but they made another slight change. i figured i would not just guess or generalize what a mirror finish does but acutally ask the people that made and tested it

$10 bucks isn't that important to me, nor is the mirror finish. I'm mostly wondering when they will have WW's back IN STOCK, and that looks like in a week or so.

will they ONLY have the new ones? or the regular ones too?

(I actually heard mirror finishes produce diminished returns on performance. someting about how the thermal grease can't get into the nooks and crannies if it's lapped so fine)

that he didn't say. i would guess they carry both, because when i talked to them a month ago about it, they said they will also be carrying a mirror finished version that will cost a bit more. so to me that sounds like they will have both versions. but there is a chance that for a few day the mirror finished ones will be the only ones instock and not on backorder when they come out.

when he told me it make like little difference over the present version i just said the hell with it and send me mine. so they shipped it today
