Just try to keep them from being rebellious and starting their own team . Good job, though, keep it up.

Hey man! I did the exact same thing, only I updated Shroomer's thing with questions that people asked in the thread.

What is Folding@Home and what does it do?
Folding@Home is a distributed computing project which studies protein folding, misfolding, aggregation, and related diseases. We use novel computational methods and large scale distributed computing, to simulate timescales thousands to millions of times longer than previously acheived. This has allowed us to simulate folding for the first time, and to now direct our approach to examine folding related disease

What are proteins and why do they "fold"?
Proteins are biology's workhorses -- its "nanomachines." Before proteins can carry out their biochemical function, they remarkably assemble themselves, or "fold." The process of protein folding, while critical and fundamental to virtually all of biology, remains a mystery. Moreover, perhaps not surprisingly, when proteins do not fold correctly (i.e. "misfold"), there can be serious effects, including many well known diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, and Parkinson's disease. By running it on your computer, you are helping to cure diseases which affect millions of people and their families.

Why should I run this?
Take a look here.

How can I help?
You can help our project by downloading and running our client software. Our algorithms are designed such that for every computer that joins the project, we get a commensurate increase in simulation speed.

What have we done so far?
We have had several successes. You can read about them on our Science page, Results section, or go directly to our press and papers page.

How much does it affect my computer?
Performance hits when using folding at home can be seen here
This shows that there is virtually no affect on the system when using folding at home. Now you have no excuses not to join the team

Why on earth are you posting this here?
There are nearly 4,000 members registered at the time of this posting. Assuming that only a small percentage of those people are willing to do this, it would still be a TREMENDOUS blessing to the project.

On behalf of me and my team, it would be much appreciated if you would run under team number 11314, but, then again, it doesn't really matter as long as you're folding. I would be especially appreciated if you would fold under my username (S3CUR3), but that again is your choice.

If there is enough interest in the project, I will start our own team here.

Every little helps. I'm trying to get more people interested at my forum, overclocking.com. We had a discussion and decided to join you guys, but there are only a handful of us helping really right now, though I'm using all the systems I can currently 24/7. This may only be a quasi 1800+ (Palomino, 11x139) and a quasi 3900+ (Barton, 12x210.5), but it all adds up.
