I might have another 3.4EE ES come available here in the next couple of weeks....I would be willing to sell for the right price....

I ran a few tests. First off...12x200 with the L3 cache disabled: effectively this is a 2.4C now. Idle is the same load, load was 15C lower. I think this is just a matter of needed more amps to the TEC. I am going with the Meanwell SP-480-15 so that I can run it at Vmax (15.2V) and get Imax too (24A). This still leaves plenty of room on the PSU for my 4 120mm fans as it is rated to a maximum of 34A at 15V.

BTW...I am running at 330x12 (3.96Ghz) right now. Memory benchmarks are crazy high.

whoa...now THAT is awesome, although your vcore is quite high, ive read that EE's sometimes need that extra voltage though cuz of the cache, is that true?

I ran the 245x17 just for a high show. It is not quite stable there. Remember, I am TEC cooling only, 4170Mhz w/o phase change isn't bad! In the next one (340x12) you can see volts are much lower. Strangely running at 250x16 allows me to go to 1.55V and still be 100% stable. This is where I operate as a result. 80 extra Mhz for +0.15V is not worth it. And yes, the Gallatin core loves voltage, needs to feed the extra L3 cache.

cache dosent require much to run, if it did need extra voltage, I would think in the area of .025v

not stock, o/cing wise, but yes, i know it cant be a whole lot, but it adds up after awhile, i mean, it would be more difficult to get a 3.2EE to 4 with the same volts as a 3.2C to 4

it would be the same reason cellies o/c so well....they dont have much cache at all (also the reason they dont work too well)

It's definately the heat load from the processor that produces such high load temperatures. Running at 2.4Ghz with the L3 cache disabled I was able to get the idle to no load delta down to 1/2 the value I run now...only 15C!
