A problem I have never seen before, need help!

I have recently installed new components into my computer and among them was a new SATA HDD. So then I reinstaled WinXp and all the software from scratch. I worked fine for 2 weeks and a few days ago something started happening.
Now every time I start my computer and the windows loads I can't start any of the programs, I can't restart or shut down windows, I even can't get into task manager window. All that works is My Computer. Then I manualy shut down the computer by holding the power button. Then I disconnect my power cabel for 20 s and then when I turn the computer on windows loads normaly and everything works totally normal. Until the next day when on the first start I again have the same problem. One more thing to mention is when this problem occures sound card software (SoundMax) in windows doesn't detect the onboard sound card.
My new components are GeForce 6800 Video Card, Seagate 120GB SATA HDD, 3.2Ghz Intel Prescott processor with a Zalman cooler and 350 W power suply.
So anybody has any ideas?

check your psu a 350watt may be struggling seing as you have just added a bunch of power hungry components, i.e 6800, sata hd, and new proc, check out the psu thread for recommendations and make sure you READ davids sticky!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is your psu a generic one or is it a major branded one, your systems needs ideally approx 450watt psu to function ok, even better if o/clocked.

A 350W power supply is probably definitely not enough running a video card like that.
