OCZ Powerstream 520 connectors
not 100% on what cables to connect..... I separated the 24 pin ATX and connected the remaining 20 pin connector. Then theres the other 2 4 pin connectors. One is +P4 and the other is P4. I connected the P4 to the JPW1 on the mobo. Sound right? |

I think this is where people end up frying their PSU/mobo...I think it's the P4, NOT THE P4+ one...at least, that's what I used...

holy crap... i think the reason mine blew up might have been from the p4 p4+ thing i read the forums that you just posted and i thought they said they were wired the same maybe they ment somehting else...i used the p4+...and mine blew up....i would try the p4 first lol plus it looks "more" like the regular connector
david im going to pm you (or post a question like this ) when my RMA gets returned to make sure i am not the person messing this up, oh and good call on the OCZ support they are awesome and very helpful*edit*...oh how i love re-reading "The one marked P4 is the correct one to use for ATX. The one marked P4+ is to be used with a BTX board only. The are wired correctly, so if you were to force P4+ into a P4 connector it will work. Just beware that the one marked P4 is th right one to use and will push easily into the P4 connector on your board" i used the p4+ but it was really easy to put in so i think i twisted it or something i know the clip wasnt on the right side and i was kinda wondering about that, i feel bad i think it was my fault not a defective unit

![]() SVC still has them for $115, I think mine was $120 shipped from directron... 470 has 34A on +5V vs 420's 30A, and 33A on +12V vs 420's 30A...a small improvement, but hey, at least it's not somewhere useless like the +3.3V...(this is why I didn't get the 520...the only difference from the 520 vs the 470 is an extra 6A on the +5V...something virtually useless at that point...plus it's louder because it gets hotter and the fans are temp controlled. |
