What exactly is TEC? I'm sure I know what they are, just not used to calling them TECs. Hell, maybe I don't know what they are...

They're also called Peltiers. Usually they're about the a couple of inches square, and produce heat on one side and cold on the other. The temperature depends on how cool you can get the hot side to. The colder the hot side, the cooler the cold side gets.

The one thing is, a TEC has a maximum cold temp that it can reach... Like if you have -50C water and had it cooling a TEC, odds are it wouldn't give you any colder on the other side...
Using dual TECs would be helpful perhaps with using ambient temperature water, but not if you are using chilled water... If you were planning on using dual 226w TECs, that is going to need some serious power & cooling.... |

depending on the wattage, and what you could find / or what you were willing to spend...
Tripplite makes power supplies for "CB radios, test bench supplies, tape players and amplifiers" which run at 13.8v, and they range from 3amps to 60amps... But they are going to cost you for the larger models... http://tripplite.com/products/invert...ed_dcpower.cfm |
