whats with the ipod bashing? i dont know if you guys know this but ipods are like tanks i dropped mine about 100x already (not joking i use it at the gym) and it still works fine. not only that the performance hasnt changed one bit. overpriced? i think not. id rather pay a little more for something that can take a hit than something that will crumble ie my exgfs sony mp3 player, given that its battery life is long but when it fell off the treadmill the battery was useless cause the device fell apart, and dont let me get started with creative products. i dont know whether to use them as paper weights after they break or just throw them out.

i think you should just get something that fits your personality, i mean if your a hardcore music listener, definitely get bigger than 1 or 4 gigs, and ipod isnt the only good brand

Creative all the way

Ok heres the deal, I work for an electronics store at which i sell both creative mp3 players as well as the market Icon Ipod. we sell hundreds of Ipods, not as many creative. but we see by far more Ipods coming in for repair, return, or exchange then we do the Creative models. I have the Creative Muvo TX FM 1GB. I use it to go snowboarding, work out at the gym, and just to use around town. It has a screen 1gig of storage, and an FM radio. At $170 it blows the Ipod products out of the water.

Just my experience and My opinion, Take it or not its up to you. Market Icon or quality product.

perhaps because so many ipods are sold, ther is a greater chance some of them would be defective. if you sold that many creative players, there may be an equal number of repairs/returns/exchanges. do you understand what i'm trying to say?

funny, i've read many complaints about creative's headphone jacks dying because of a crappy solder connection, or the abysmal battery life of the first micros.
