Can't connect to assignment server

Anyone else getting this after that last round of Windows Updates? Started after my last submission around 12:30pm EDT today.

[16:37:16] Loaded queue successfully.
[16:37:16] + Benchmarking ...
[16:37:19] - Preparing to get new work unit...
[16:37:19] + Attempting to get work packet
[16:37:19] - Connecting to assignment server
[16:37:40] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server
[16:37:40] + Could not connect to Assignment Server
[16:38:01] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server
[16:38:01] + Could not connect to Assignment Server 2
[16:38:01] + Couldn't get work instructions.
[16:38:01] - Error: Attempt #1 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
Waiting before retry.

Obviously my internet connection is working. And I don't have the Windows Firewall enabled.

I just checked my log and everything seems OK on my set.

Ran all the upgrades but the anti-spyware.

I've stopped and restarted the FAH service and tried a reboot but still no dice.

Save out your work files and reinstall F@H and see if that helps.
Maybe something in it didn't like the update and lost it's link?

I don't know for sure whether it was the Windows Updates or not. This just started happening today. But that's the only thing that has changed on this system this week.

i'd say go through set up again with the "-config" tag in your target line. something might had been messed up with "use IE settings: yes/no" option. should be on "yes"

It must not be the cause of a Windows Update, my last successful folding submission was around 1am EDT today. (Windows Updates happened Wed)

[04:57:03] - Preparing to get new work unit...
[04:57:03] + Attempting to get work packet
[04:57:03] - Connecting to assignment server
[04:57:04] - Successful: assigned to (171.64.122.127).
[04:57:04] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
[04:57:04] Loaded queue successfully.
[04:57:05] + Closed connections
[04:57:05]
[04:57:05] + Processing work unit
[04:57:05] Core required: FahCore_78.exe
[04:57:05] Core found.
[04:57:05] Working on Unit 03 [June 17 04:57:05]
[04:57:05] + Working ...

I checked Stanford's site and their server stats say that server [171.64.122.127] is online. This is strange.

Yeah Steve, that's the page I was looking at earlier when I said that .127 was online. I still was not able to connect to it to get a work packet however. It's all good though, I was able to connect and download work 10 minutes ago. So I lost about 2.5 hours worth of folding time on one box.

Rest assured it's an issue on their end. About the best you can do is stop and restart the service/console/gui every so often (since the program will keep waiting longer and longer in between attempts after so many failures) and eventually they'll go through.

Sorry Guys......I was out all day. FunkZ, if you can post a log file when you have a problem I can help you out more. There a a lot of thing the will not allow you to get another WU from that server. Like server load. You might want to change your flags to try to recieve a wu from another server..

Glad you are up and running.
