Ultra Cheap PSU's for folding machines
I am checking to see if anyone has any suggestions for super cheap PSU's. I dont want to spend hardly anything since they will be for dedicated folding machines. I need atleast two PSU's for dual core intels (Celeron D's). OC'ing would be nice, but not if I have to spend a lot more on PSU's to do it. There are sooo many cheap power supplies, but I do not know enough about the brands to know if they are listing thier specs honestly. |

I would recommend looking at the low-end Fortron, Sparkle, Superflower, and even HEC units. Directron has really good prices on several models. They tend to sell a lot of final stock on last years models or close-outs. If you are using low power vid cards or onboard vid than look at 300w to 350w units. That will suit your purposes fine. Good luck.

I'd say go for the Enermax versions. They are pretty cheap and very stable.

+12V1@18A, +12V2@16A
Is that going to be good enough for a dual core intel rig? |

I agree with the FSP suggestions. I just received my 400 watt fortron. I installed and checked voltages with a DVM all were in specs and very stable.
In all the reasearch I did they are the best bang for the buck for under $60.00 If that 350 watt FSP isnt enough mine was 46.98 with shipping from new egg. And it has a 120mm fan. I removed the fan grille for a little more air flow. Got here in 3 shipping days |

Why not. Folding rigs typically use less than 100w. I'm guessing that "super cheap PSU's" means $30 or less. An Orion would be a bad choice but the LDT, LRT, ADB and TR-TF units would work good enough for folding. Of course Fortron or Sparkle would remain my first choice.
