starting out with folding
I am going back to school on saturday, so I would like to get this up and running by then. Basically I have 2 rigs waiting for it, the two amd rigs in my sig, a 2400 and a 2700. I was wondering if there is a linux livecd with the FAH client that comes with it, as the 2400 is lacking a hard drive. if there isnt, then this is not an issue, i can pull one out of another machine. Secondly, am I correct in understanding that I dont need to run any flags on these, as the current client forces SSE/3DNOW instructions to be used? Thirdly, would I see that much of a difference with overclocking these? I maxed the 2700 out at about 2.45, but I will have to pin mod it on the current board it is in. I also plan on running a Celeron 1.1ghz, or is it not really worth running? thanks alot guys!

IMO anything over 1ghz is good enough...just know performance for the electricity used isn't really the best.
As for a linux distro with FAH I believe overclockix has it on the live cd. The link should be in the stickys. |

With the overclockix live cd be sure to change your ID and team name as described in the sticky.

What are your gaming ports looking like? The reason I ask is you could spend a bit, buy 2 AGP 1950s, and get some major PPD from those rigs. However it will require Winblows.

I went back and downloaded overclockix, so i will make sure to try that out.
As for graphics, I will not be spending any money on these. the 2400 will either use onboard video (nforce2) or a riva tnt2 m64 card. the 2700 has a 9700pro. The 2700 has windows on it, so i plan to use the windows client on it, obviously .
