SMP on 3.2C
its only going to have 1gb ddr2 to start with, but i'll go to 2 around xmas hopefully, u think it can make the smp units in time so i can get some decent points out of it? |

Well lep, you might have to OC it a bit more. It only has 512 L2 cache.
The SMP clients love L2. The more the merrier. |

rah? from the pit? So its kinda iffy, i mean maybe this thing will oc a little better, but its getting a cheap case/psu, stock cooler so i dont expect TOO much, but 3.4-3.6 wouldnt be unreasonable i think, but i am going with a via chipset, i hope its got pci lock and some decent ratio's for ram:fsb, never used intel before lol. I guess ill have to find out, i would think it could get them done, but maybe its just wishful thinking

I have a Pent D running at 3.5GHz and it takes roughly two days to finish a SMP WU. I don't know how a Pentium 3.2c is gonna do, but I don't imagine it getting the WUs done within the timeframe.

so the verdict is?? i guess it may depend on the type of oc i can get out of it. The deadline is 4 days, and my brisbane completes them in 1 day 10hours, is my brisbane really going to be more than 2x as fast? I guess i'll just have to try it out when the parts get here, hopefully it can complete them in 3ish days so i can get some decent points out of this rig
