Hard Crashes 4850

So lately my computer has been crashing about 5-10 times a day while gaming. Games such as, Crysis, GOW, COD, UT3 etc.

When I set clock the Gpu at 700 it crashes.

So my specs are

AMD x2 5000+ 3094 238x13
4850 512mb 625-650 anything above will crash 625-650/1080-1100/2180/2200 8.7 Driver
Fan running at 100%
Mobo Gigabyte 780G mobo
4gb ddr2-800
Vista 64bit home premium

I think I have a driver issue.

Any specific thing you have to do to get these to install? I tried about 4 times, and everything but the actual drivers themselves would install.

Do a memtest86 run just to rule out ram. I just installed a 4870, and had the same issue...turns out a stick took a dump. Also check in the EventViewer for Applications and System, and pin point your crashes with the time stamp. Post the stop code, and we can have a look at it.

memtest is easy to get ahold of, google is your friend. I'd suggest getting a copy of UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD), as it's a great tool. 2 Problems can cause these crashes:

1) Memory, bad RAM tends to cause BSOD's
2) GPU OCing, GPU OC that is too high will tend to cause hangs rather than a BSOD.

You'll want to get ATItool to scan for artifacts. If it detects artifacts your GPU is running too fast and will need more voltage and cooling, or less speed.
