The stock fans on the 690 are very weak. Pushing them up to a medium speed YL does wonders for the airflow.

Just installed water cooling in mine and its great. Dead silent and my 4870 idling at 30c.

Also I have 2 IDE drives in mine and it works perfectly fine. I don't see what the issue is.

I have a CM690 and a Antec 300. I like the 300, but it only works if you don't want the led effect. The fans on the front are offset to the side.

Are you saying you don't get quality with Coolermaster?

I'd say you get better quality myself....

I've been looking a lot at the 690 for a month now, but what I'm not sure about is whether my TRUE Black will fit in it?

I bought a 690 for my dad's computer and I liked it quite a bit. I know that he gets along with it fine, but as far as installing everything I was happy with build quality. I think I got it for $60 shipped iirc. I have bought so much stuff it is hard to remember anymore. lol

It just arrived yesterday and it seems to have a TON or room. Today the mobo and others arrive and get put in. I've heard about the cable mgt. and it does have a nice space to route cables on the opposite side. My PSU went in fine (Corsair 650TX). I really like to look of the mesh and think that the airflow will be sufficient. I might need too get more fans - it comes with 3x120mm and I can add 4 more. We'll see what the temps are.

I did buy an Antec for my in-laws build and have to say it impressed me with the build quality.

Any other cases I'm missing?

thanks
I have that exact same case and here are two pics of my setup. The only issue i have with the case is with the power supply wires covering the bottom fan which makes a difference in cooling my video card. If you have a fully modular PSU then your set. I'm actually going to put a fan in the 5.25 bay on top of the dvd drive, tha way the air can actually flow cool from the front through the cpu fan and right out the exhaust fan.
