Question FarCry 2 Still Crashing In Vista With 8.12's

Hey guys I finally got around to installing FC2 on my rig but it's not running well. With everything maxxed I'm hitting about 40FPS in game but it stutters every 5-6 seconds, and when I get to the end of the intro where your character starts to pass out or whatever it crashes every time.....any ideas?

You presumed correctly, I have not reverted back to 8.11's with the hotfix yet as the 8.12's really boost all the other games I play. Graphic settings don't change anything, I think I might have to wait for 9.1's

maybe so but its still doesnt explain why it wont run, i can run it finen for hours at max settings on the 8.12s but i am struggling for other ideas of what could cause the issue

i know its a noob question but how are the card temps looking, also what sort of crash are you getting, the old display driver has stopped working, BSoD from unsable to recover device driver. if it is either of these 2 and you havent OCed the PCIe bus they can be reduced of not removed completly with 110 on the PCIe bus

The game just closes......no error messages or anything. It's no different then x-ing out of the internet or a folder window....it's odd. According to HWMonitor my CPU maxxes at 44*C and my GPU hit's 52*C....so temps shouldn't be the issue

memory oc/hardware sometimes will cause a crash to desktop, its not a video card exclusive problem. might be something to check.

It's stable everywhere else....even in X3 which is known to be crazy picky when it comes to the CPU/RAM OC and timings....

I had some issues with FC2 also, high steady framerates but it was jerky in DX10, so i went to DX9 and maxed textures and shaders and it plays great now and still looks really nice.

almost forgot I also had to clock my card down to 800/945.
