Please, no. Get the S1283 over the D1284 anytime of the day

Have both, and there was a good 10C difference between them.

Yep Nagoshi's right, out of all the Xigmatek's the HDT-S1283 is the most best in performance cooling.

I really say (to the OP) that you should save up some pennies and grab the S1283 over anything else. It's the top performing heatsink for the money out there right now, and it's going to be much more performing than anything else you can buy for less than that.

My point (which you missed) was to get something better than what he linked for very little extra cash. If I was going to suggest something out of his budget, I'd have suggested a TRUE.

This is the top rated 92mm CPU cooler on frostytech.
XIGMATEK HDT-SD964 92mm Rifle CPU Cooler
it's only $23 w/rebate and that may still be in your price range.

This cooler is about 3-4C less effective than the Xig S1283 or Sunbeam CCF, which are some of the best 120mm coolers and are a bit more expensive. There is actually one 92mm that is rated higher on frostytech, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere yet.

Additional Comment:

I guess with shipping and before rebate this is more like $33, so maybe I shouldn't have posted it. The S1283 is more like $43 with shipping. If you can come up with the extra $13 and wait a bit for the rebate, I am sure the SD964 will work very well, if not, I am sure that the rosewill will be better than the stock.

That S1283 from microcenter will be $36 with shipping, but you get $10 back on the rebate, so it would work out to about the same as the 92mm Xig after rebate and shipping. If you try to go that route, just make sure the S1283 will fit in your case, because it is a big cooler being almost 6.3" deep. You would probably have to take the side fan out of your 900 to make it fit.
