how many watts of heat

i am thinking about tinkering with a tec on my CPU, the only thing is i dont really have an idea how much heat in watts its giving out. its currently using 1.5v-core and has a max load temp of 53.

my current watter loop is a heat killer 3, black ice GT stealth 360 rad with 3 kaze jyuni fans (the make some noise at 1900RPM), alpha cool eihm station 1000L pump/res.

also while i am here i ahve looked at a couple and it states a Tmax as 67 - is this the same as theoretical delta T???

You'll need a power supply that can output what a TEC needs. A plate between the peltier and cpu. And lastly a controller. You need a controller to avoid any condensation.

I recommend you buying a block already set up. Probably one of the easier routes. Frozen CPU is a good place to start looking around.

Note: This product is intended for advanced users and requires appropriate insulation measures to prevent the formation of condensation in sensitive areas of the motherboard. Whereas Swiftech provides gaskets, and specific installation instructions for a safe assembly, utilization of this device is at the sole risk of the user.

If your gonna do this garage style, meaning No controller for example, you face a tough road ahead. Peltiers can and will run improperly on a PC PSU. And in turn it ruins the peltier faster. It needs to be powered correctly in order to work at it's maximum.

this was gonna be a garage style project i am afraid. avoiding the condesation shouldn't be much of an issue as i can make seals and a condesor plate so the ondesation has some where to run of too.

now this plate between the CPU and pelt??? whats the idea of that, copper is kinda expensive but i should be able to get hold of some. as for power supplies i was leaning towrads a smoothed PSU or a sperate supply all together if i can find one big enough

The plate gives a little in both directions. It allows the peltier to cool a larger surface area (60mm) and the cpu to heat a bigger surface area (we'll say 40mm spread out to 60mm).

All you need is about 1/4 inch thick plate the size of the peltier.

You have to power it correctly though. Other wise it just won't do it. Small tecs (80w - 200w) MIGHT work on a regular cpu psu. You would power from 2 rails on the yellow line. Using 2 rails will help get the power you'll need.

And you Will be creating ice/condensation. So be prepared to kill hardware

I recommend trying this on some old hardware first.

i in proccess of making a condensation plate which will be sealed with sealer. i will look into some copper plate about 5mm thick - it will take some looking but should be possible.

i currently dont have old hardware kicking about so this is gonna be do or die, temps are starting to drop over here now which should help.
