Corsair 750TX. ~$100 on Newegg. One of the top PSU manufactures out there. Overkill? yes, but you won't need to upgrade it when you build you next computer.

+1 to corsair. The best out there, and definitely overkill. But it'll be more than enough for you, and you can carry it from build to build. |

It does look like a pretty great piece of hardware so thanks for pointing me in that direction fellas. As for the issue of size and compatibility with my particular tower/setup I should be fine as far as space and cables and all of that jazz?

If it's a standard case (mATX, ATX) it will fit.

![]() The PC P&C 500W is the standard Dell upgrade recommendation as it has been certified by all parties. The PC P&C 750W may be fine assuming it fits, it is a little longer than the ATX standard & is there a Dell certified model? Another possible option is the PC P&C 610W which I "believe/think" meets the ATX standard for size & can be had with Dell certification, but check out the 610W for yourself, as I almost never get into Dell upgrades beyond the PC P&C 500W. Also check with Dell as to what they will allow without voiding your warranties & their (possible) requirement(s) that it be purchased through Dell & installed by Dell certified reps. Best Wishes, Dave |

Thank you kindly for the welcome Dave.
I believe I am going with the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005 Corsair 650TX because although the 750TX has more power and more connectors for the same price after rebate I'd rather have the extra space behind the power supply than have it too smashed up against my DVD drives. Plus, even with the extra connectors I don't think my case is really big enough to support two video cards in the future anyway. Here is to hoping this computer lasts me nearly eight years of abuse that the last one did. I was really, really tempted to get the same model in modular form to keep things clean but Newegg isn't offering free shipping on the 620HX unfortunately. |

The Corsair 520HX would be another Good option for modular and possibly lower price point.$89.99 AR at the Egg.

![]() I am sure that it is a nice PSU & if you were outside the US with limited availability, it might be a top choice, but here in the good ole USA we don't have to settle for less than the best & thankfully given the competition we can almost always find a "proven winner" at a great price. I always try to recommend only what I personally KNOW will work, not what should work. Over the years I have built up a sizeable list & I stick to it. If you notice, we almost never have anyone posting that a "Recommended" PSU failed to power their system & I intend to keep it that way!
