Getting a little worried about my choice of PSU.
Core i7 950 Asus P6T Deluxe v2 6gb Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz eVGA GTX295 2x 500gb Seagate HDs X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Corsair 800d case *Thermaltake TR2 RX-850 850watt PSU* I made the dainty PSU choice because I was going over budget and I felt that any TT 850watt PSU would run all my gear fine. But now I'm starting to regret it. In your opinions, am I putting my new computer in any really important risk by ordering a not-quite-top-of-the-line PSU? Keep in mind my maximum computer life before upgrade tends to be around 18 months... so lifetime of the PSU isn't much of an issue. |

The only TT PSU's that can be recommended are the CWT built Toughpowers, the rest are sub-standard & over-rated.
Retrun the TT & get a Corsair 850 HX or TX. In the "Great Deals" section a BFG 1KW PSU with a lifetime warranty is only $170. You don't need this much, but the prices & warranty may make it a best buy. |

Keep in mind that if you buy a high end psu now you can carry it over to other builds

That is very true, I used a 350w allied psu in AT LEAST 4-5 computer builds. It still works perfect today. I think in doggy years it would be 97 years old. I donated it to work and its currently powering a Dell GX270 -- only reason i didnt keep it is its 20 pin power connector has become obsolete for me.
