Last piece for the AMD rig will be here next week and I'll finally be able to button it up. Then starts the tear down on the i7 for the water cooling, SSD's and so on, got my projects for the winter all lined up ... just need a second job to cover all these upgrades.

Thanks guys. This dry ice stuff is a lot of fun. I highly recommend trying it if you get the chance. I'll try to round-up a bigger monitor. These cards are supposed to perform better at higher res.

Thats a nice set of runs you posted, WD. Were you able to run them all in one go?

I think Dent is tied up at work for a while due to a large hail storm in the Mid West ............. Plenty of dents to fix for sure .....Hence the name if you ever have wondered

Bring on the competition, WD. I love it, as I'm sure other serious benchers do. That new rig your putting together looks to be a formidable contender here and on the bot.

A couple tips for anyone running this bench;
-Don't even think about running this on anything less than Raid0. it's good for 10-12 FPS overall on my rig.
-Super tweak your OS. Skinny it down to barebones. Before I run this, I shut down to 17-19 processes running and 8-10% mem usage.

I've been putting off wiping and re-loading my OS's, because I have an error on one of my drives, but I have them tweaked really nicely and not sure I can get them back to the same state again. I have to look into imaging software, so I can re-load from a drive image.

Plus, any recomendations for good motherboards that overclock the E8500 well which don't break the bank?

All looks good except that POS cooler

if money is an isse look to the Sunbeam CCF I personally would grab a better fan than what comes with it but you do get TX2 wit it so that is a nice plus ... I would say very good bang for the cooling dollar...

I had that board before it got me to 5Ghz.... under water though

4 gigs will be easy with that EO

Well I made a run with my new rig and I didn't beat my old score lol. Still learning the i7 ropes! I'll keep working on it

I ran my 920 at 4.2 and my e8400 at 4.5 beat it.
