new to oc...need advice

Hi all

My system spec. as follows

vista 32bit & 64bit
Q8200
Asus P5Q3
2*2gb kit ocz reaper x hpc ddr3 1333 OCZ3RPX1333EB4GK
Sapphire x1600 (soon to be replaced be HD5850)
Xigmatek HDT-S1283 cooler
Tacens Valeo Smart 560 PSU
Aerocool extremengine 3t
Seagate barracuda sata 1TB
Maxtor 320gGB


Im hoping to oc my cpu to a minimun 2.8ghz (400*7multiplier) to start with
Id like to oc Ram to 1600MHz
Can anyone offer help with memory settings?
Will push further if given help.
Anyone know have far i can push this system?

Also does anyone have issues with noise from these components?
Have vibration from case which ive almost got rid of but finding it had to detect a more high pitched noise which is driving me crazy.

Can't help you to OC the computer but will offer some advice. The first is take pictures of the overclocking section of bios with a picture and load them on here using the attachment feature. This will let everyone see what your bios looks like as each motherboard has different bios features. For example, overclocking motherboards will have more overclocking ability then a dell premade motherboard.

The next is the OC of the system can go as far as the system wants it to go. What i mean here is no two systems are alike, One person can get a 3.5 GHZ max cpu while another can get a 4 GHZ cpu OC on the same hardware with same cooling and the same voltage. So It's all in when the hardware says "enough is enough."

But good luck to your OC. Hope some people here who have done some can help you. But get some pics up as soon as you can so you can get better quality help quicker.

appears to be running stable for now.
might up fsb to 450 & take the ram to 1800
anyone oc this ram?
