Cooling with a Rampage II Extreme
Intel i7 extreme @ 3.33ghz Rampage II Extreme Motherboard 12gb Corsair DDR3 1600 RAM 64gb SSD for core applications, Multiple SATA II HDDs for everything else ATI Radeon 4800 series Video Card 6 120mm Fans Cooler Master CMSTACKER Case I managed to overclock it to 4.2ghz, but my temperature warning came on real quick. Obviously my 6 120mm fans aren't enough. I'm thinking about going with a liquid cooling system, but I really don't know to much about it. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks! |

6 120mm fans doesn't mean that you have a good or bad cooling system. What really matters is what heatsink you have... so the question is, what heatsink do you have?
How much money do you plan/want to spend on your heatsink? A full out watercooling system would cost atleast 300~400 with only cooling the CPU. |

If your budget is 300, I say go for a custom watercooling loop.
![]() The stock intel heatsink is not meant for overclocking, so that explains your high temperatures. |
