Project Woody Worklog

I have started to gather components for a new computer system. It will be based around a Coolermaster HAF X case and a liquid cooled Intel LGA1156 socket processor.

My goal here is to build a high performing quad core computer system that will also be quiet and aesthetically pleasing. It will be based on the best components I can afford, and due to budget constraints, will probably take me 3-4 months to finish.

The parts I have so far are: Coolermaster HAF X case, Antec SG-850 Signature Series Power Supply, EVGA P55 Classified 200 motherboard, and a G.Skill Pi PC3-17600 4GB Dual-Channel Memory Kit.

Over the next week, I will figure out what I am using for water cooling, so I can get those parts in my hands before Christmas. I am hoping the new Thermochill TA120.3 radiators get stocked soon, as I liked their previous series of radiators, and expect the TA series will outperform them.Once I get the main water cooling components, I will start trial fitting them into my case.

You might be wondering why the name "Project Woody"? I plan to replace the plastic front and top panels on the HAF X case with birds eye Maple. The side panels will get birds eye maple trim mounted to them on the embossed sections to tie things together.

I just wanted to add that it is because of all the fine computers that have been shown here that I have gotten enough ideas for my own system.
