Gigabyte RMA?

How good is the Gigabyte RMA service? My 5850 has ****ed up (for the 100th time) again, however this time I'm sending to directly to Gigabyte and not the retailer. It's unusable outside of safemode. Does anyoen have any experience?

Additional Comment:

Also, I'm boycotting Gigabyte products from now on. Out of all 3 items I've owned, all 3 have been crap.

Just found out, I'll have to rma my new board. I keep getting am error message about a is device is drawing more power than the usb port can supply. it is realed to my mouse. I've tried different mice, in different usb ports all with the same result. All voltages are under max. I'm not happy.

I've used them in the past for a P35 board and they were pretty good with a short turnaround time.A little jumping through hoops with troubleshooting before they would issue a RMA # but not bad.

As long as there is no external damage, I'd highly suggest getting an advance RMA. It was the only way I could get them to swap my mobo out.

I won't be buying a gigabyte product again either...

Also, it turns out I have to return it to the retailer, because Gigabyte doesn't let Aussies RMA things, and says on their page to return to the retailer. Pretty ****ed off right about now. Gone from 3 screens to one. Can no longer browse net, play games, watch movies, type a word document, etc at one time.

I just built my rig, and I'll reach out to them tomorrow. Not too happy. I think my marvell controller is the culprit.

SB recall was over a bad transistor in the P67 chipset itself.

No, it's the new revision. I bought it at the beginning of April. aside from the problem the overvoltage on the usb ports, the board is great.

I'll let you know how mine goes. My 790FXT-UD5P quit the other day. Pretty sure both bios' are corrupted. I got an RMA number 1 day after I sent the e-mail. Pretty happy about that so far. Let's see about the turn around time now.

Additional Comment:

Got my board back from RMA. Brand new fresh one. Works mint. 2 weeks total turn around. No fuss, no muss, no hassles. +1 for Gigabyte.

Im surprised, they seem rather reluctant to send new boards. I sent mine in for an RMA, they managed to make a notch in the PCB in a corner, blamed it on me, mentioned they were going to fix it (Which they did not), and sent the board back as "tested working", which they also did not do at all, since both first RAM slots are still dead. At least they did not make me pay for the shipping back...

I hope I don't have your experience. I have a P45 board in right now. I don't see how I will accept anything except a new board. Like you, my problem lies with the RAM slots. The second ram bank is entirely dead and there are or were numerous glitches with the 1st and 2nd slots.

Not too pleased with Gigabyte at all. seeing from my p45 experience and then combined with the fact that my P35 board doesn't even run at 400 FSB...

Will be boycotting/avoiding all gigabyte products hereafter.

My board also has another RAM issue, the RAM slots won't run a hair over 1600MHz. Its solid at whatever I want, as long as it is under 1600MHz. 1605 doesnt boot.

Im not too pleased myself with my 1st Gigabyte board.

Gigabyte is like the Xbox360 of the PC world. All of their products have a short life, and the warranty sucks ***.
