Copy files from Ipod touch to Itunes/computer
Anyone know of any good (free) tools to sync music off the ipod? I've got this stuff scattered all around but I'd rather not mess with re-ripping/converting all my music if I can. The program above works, but only lets me drag/drop one file at a time; that will take way too long and It still needs to be renamed/tagged. So anyone know how to grab data of an ipod touch? I'm a bit stumped here, can't really find any good (Non paid for) ways to do this. |

Check out iPhone Browser, it will pull the encrypted data off and allow you to add the files elsewhere or resync to the ipod, keep in mind its technically illegal as it breaks apple's TOS. It may garble the names like Don't Fear the Reaper.mp4 to KD4FAZ.mp4 but at least you will have a copy of it. It works for ipod/iphone devices without having to jail break it.

Most of the files are tagged anyways, so I'll just feed them though something to straighten out the names. I'd prefer not to jailbreak, least till I get the thing updated and backed up so I don't loose any files. After this jailbreaking seems a good bit more worthwhile . Can't believe it's this hard to move files . Thanks anyways, hopefully anyone else having this problem can find some info here.

I use sharepod and used to be a big fan of using a recent version of WinAMP if you had it installed already.

Not sure about your immediate problem but if you have trouble with file names, foobar2000 will rename them for you. I think you might have to check an option during install that's unchecked by default but it works really well.
