Hooking pc up to tv
My brother wants to hook his pc up to his tv, so he can watch netflix on his tv. I looked at his stuff, but honestly have no idea what i'm doing with it. he has a 32inch flat screen tv with hdmi and, s-video. His pc only has a vga port. Is there a way to do this via adapters or something? |

prob just need a VGA to HDMI adapter to get the signal to the TV, if he's really interested in doing a HTPC setup he should look at getting some sort of TV tuner card.

That VGA-->HDMI is not going to work in most cases unless the card supports digital signal over VGA which is not common.
I'd recommend he gets a video card with HDMI output they are cheap. Even if he does get a VGA to HDMI working it will only carry the video and not the audio. So he'd need to get an audio cable from the computer to the TV as well. If he got a video card with HDMI it should carry the audio and video to the TV with one cable. Has he considered getting a ROKU box or appleTV or something similar for $50-100 to get him netflix and other media to his TV? |
