Ole Seph still has the touch Baby!

So, wednesday, my genius boyfriend connected my STX's molex while the computer was still on,

I then proceeded to spend 2hours trying to breathe life back into the system, but to no effect, the computer simply would not post.

Naturally, I turned into a ***** instantly, I was ready to enjoy my DT990s with my STX and crank up the ghz on the 1090T with my CM V8. I also had bought a Razer BW an extra stick of ram, I transfered over my 2 500gb momentus XT's into a RAID for the desktop and threw the old vertex 2 in there for good measure, all in a HUGE 800D(it's huge.. really..). the 23" carry-over view sonic solidifed a decent desktop build that was now a stuck pile of garbage.

The next morning, at 8:00, overnight parts from tiger and newegg to try to fix the situation with NO idea what was wrong (no spare parts to swap)
I took a guess at;
the PSU-- bought a AX1200 from corsair
the ram-- 16GB of Vengance PC1600(acutally, I didn't think it was the ram, but it was hard to pass up 16GB for $110)
the mainboard-- a gigabyte 990FX UD7H

took off half the day today, when I got home @ 1:30 the mainboard was there (my best guess honestly, the PSU was half because the old ultra 750 didn't reach in the 800D)
spent another hour loading up the V8 on the Ud7H.

No post. none at all, even the error code LED was useless.

So now I'm REALLY ****ed. No money left over for a new processor or graphics card.

I was ready to start cleaning **** up and packing it away until next payday

Then, the fedex guy dropped off the ram and PSU, I decided to give it one last shot for giggles, but my expectations were low since it powers on but just doesn't post.

the AX1200 feels like it's worth every penny of it's $274 asking price needless to say, and it's 7 year warranty backs it up.

I didn't even bother moving my mouse from the M17x. I pressed the nifty switch on the mainboard and immediatly glanced away. POST BABY!

woohoo! weekend saved! $250 for a new processor or GPU saved !

Haven't figured out if the STX made it through (unlikely, but I can live with a RMA at this point..)

Pics will come later, right now just needed to vent. Thanks for reading.

I like to think since I don't flaunt it around every other post that only the people who've been here more than a few years know. I think I've mentioned it maybe 10 times? Well, 11.

update;
the STX made it through! Looks like the only thing that got toasted was indeed the PSU.

Just wondering if you have 8x2gb sticks or 2x8gb sticks? Guessing 2x8gb.
