I myself have never owned those 2 boards but I do stand behind Asus never failed me yet. My Rampage II extreme has been a great board. My question is why would you want to change to a different motherboard. Don't think you will notice a performance difference.

There will be no performance difference, the only thing the Sabertooth might have better would be OC ability, other than that, I wouldnt bother with a board upgrade on 1366.

save your money, it will be expensive for a high end board on old tech.
If your gonna get a new board make it a Z77 and go with a Ivy bridge, or wait for Intels next chip. |

Here's my advice. Changing your motherboard will give you little, to no return on your investment, unless you're having some issue with your current board. Second, the i7 920/930/940/950 etc,...are all still very viable chips. Wait for the IB-E or even the Haswell silicon before you upgrade, if you want to actually see and feel a significant performance increase. Remember Ivy Bridge is just a tick, you may want to wait for the Tock, and then go full bore. |
