7970 Resolution limits in Eyefinity?

Hey ya'll.

I've been very busy with photography gigs and haven't kept up with specs on the latest ATI/AMD cards running Eyefinity. I currently run 3 x 23" @ 5760x1080 on my single 5870 1GB card. Great for gaming... so so when I'm working on Lightroom 4 and other post processing software for images(not enough height on screen).

Here's the question and challenge. I am entertaining the thought of buying a 27" 2560x1440 or 30" 2560x1600 res monitor. Yeah, I know they are $1,000 plus each thus won't be buying three, yet LOL! Are the 7XXX series cards still limited to having all displays in the Eyefinity group at the same resolution (e.g. 3 displays @ 1920x1080 each)? Challenge, if not limited like the 5XXX series, has anyone tried a larger res in the center and smaller on the sides??? Anyone willing to try it out if you have different HD or higher resolution displays?

As far as I know this limitation still exists.

Yes, you need to turn eyefinity off, or find work arounds to try to get eyefinity to work with multiple monitors of differing resolutions.
