Sadly No, Microsoft filled that loophole years ago, the only way you'd be able to activate, is to acquire a different serial number and change it before activation, you can do that with win7. If you are retiring the previous laptop it may be possible in some cases, but it would depend on what type of oem version it is, you would probably have to ring Microsoft to move the serial No. to the new laptop.
I have moved the Official oem version of windows to other computers with no problem, but a oem version supplied by ACER, I doubt it would activate, I'd check more thoroughly, I'm a little out of loop these day's, when it comes to win7. |

Pleased you got it sorted, moved OS's on Dell's many times, also on Asus, but not on Acer laptops.
