XFX 7970 Black Edition Artifact Issues

So I am using the latest drivers from AMD...
And I did some experimenting.
My Sapphire 7950 OC had issues with Aero. I thought it was just driver issues and every time I enabled Aero, I would get driver crashes, Aero turning itself off and on again etc.

I switched to the 7970 and just left Aero turned off.
Last night, I was bored and decided to experiment.

Aero On: Fine in Windows, watching several formats of video, low graphics games, no issues.
WoW, D3, FC3, MW3, etc...pretty much all games on High/Ultra settings...Artifacts out the yang. Lower graphics settings, artifacts mostly clear up but still get tearing and flashes of artifacts even at lowest settings.

Aero Off: Everything works fine no matter what settings.

To me, it seems like a driver issue but I have tried every driver from first release of the 7970 to the latest doing either fresh installs or driver sweeps each time.

It has me so frustrated (pretty much like every other AMD card I have ever owned lol) that I am seriously considering swapping my 7970 for a GTX590 or partial trade on a GTX690...

ZLTFUL, I would be frustrated, too. I'm also considering between these two cards:

Asus 680GTX Direct CU II 2GBhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121634

OR

EVGA 680 GTZ FTW 4GB:http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...s%20Family&sw=

What do you think of these cards?

I can get away with the lower VRAM of those 2 because of my resolution but either is a fantastic card by the numbers.

Going to do some deciding this weekend...but a GTX 680 is looking very good right now.
