Tried for 4GHz.

Okay, I know some have said my Antique P35 Mobo won't get my 9650 to 4GHz. Apparently they aren't just blowin smoke. I've tried like mad to get to 4GHz but best I can do stable is 3.92GHz and at max burn in thats pushing the chip up to 60C. Does that sound normal or am I just trying to push old hardware too far?

At least thanks to an HDD Meltdown now I'm sporting a nice SSD and a 1TB data drive. Still the same old POS Video Card but it was running BF3 at 55FPS on medium so it must not be total crap LOL. I can live with 3.92GHz for now but if those temps seem high for that speed to be stable let me know so I can back her down again and not push the chip to EOL too quickly.

What vcore and fsb voltage are you using? 60c isn't too bad for a 9650. What cooling are you using?

still hasn't listed fsb voltage, very important/limiting factor in 775 oc'ing

Sorry, My MB only list voltage in overages, which is +.1 for the DDR2 and +.2 for the PCI-e, FSB, and (G)MCH whatever that is.

You'll probably need close to 1.4v on the fsb to get to 4ghz+

Get a software that will monitor your voltages and adjust your bios accordingly.

Well if I'm not close I'm just out of luck. the only options for FSB Voltage is +.1, +.2 and +.3 so I've only got an extra .1 volt to increase it. What software will monitor the FSB Voltage cause so far nothing I have gives it.

I have an Everest code somewhere. I'll look for it and report back. Also not sure what I did but even though 3.92GHz was prime and IBT Stable, it would crash with BF3 randomly so I backed it down to 3.6. Might be a RAM voltage since I'm pushing it up to 435 and 400 requires 1.9, which its getting, and 500 requires 2.1.

you have room on voltage and temp... 70's are perfectly safe in benching and gaming... 1.4v on air and 1.45 on water would be the highest... keep pushing!!! you are almost there...

Oh yeah, back off on the ram oc and you'll probably hit 4 with no problem. You'll gain more from a higher cpu oc and stock ram than you will from a moderate oc on ram and cpu.
