Asus xonar d2x problems.
I have had this card for a few years, and have loved it. A while ago the fiber opitics went out on the card, so I just started using the regular 5.1 setup with it. Drivers have always been alittle glitchy with windows 7, but I have always seemed to get it to work. I upgraded to the mobo in my sig, and for the life of me I can't seem to get it installed correctly. Usually I format load windows and updates, and then install the card drivers. After that all I had to do was use the d2x audio center to congifure it. With 7 I had to choose 2 channel, then 5.1, and then pcm to get it to work, and it worked great. I have tried all 3 pci1x slots, and the pcix slots, and I get the same problem. Sounds very distorted during testing, and the sound is from wrong speakers. One more thing, I used to be able to use 192hz, but now I have to use 44hz to even get any clear sound. Is there something I need to disable in bios? I tried disabling the azulia audio (I think it was) in bios, but does not help. Could it be a driver issue? I have installed this card a grip of times, so I dont know how it could be drivers, but don't know. BTW: I know it works, because I put it in a asus p8h61-m and it worked just fine. Any body have any ideas let me know Thanks. Additional Comment: bump for suggestions? Additional Comment: I can't believe no one has any suggestions. Last edited by Maurice : 05-11-2012 at 10:20 AM. I have a Xonar DG on the same board as you and no issues here. Are you using the latest drivers on ASUS website?
I just set mine to 4ch and it works right away. |

Since you arent using optical or S/PDIF, dont enable SPDIF and just choose 5.1. Make sure the cabling between your Z5500 and your sound card is good (green to green, black to black, orange to orange I think? should be green = l/r front, black = l/r rear, center/sub = orange).
Not sure why it isnt working. |

Ok I tried installing the card again, and have done everything you guys have suggested, and I still get the same problem.
When I run the speaker test, it sounds like it's in slow motion, and distorted. I almost feel like giving up, and going back to my asus board. |

Ok guy's I went ahead and went back to my asus board, and the card works fine.
But I need help with 5.1. I have made sure it is green(front), Black(rear), and Orange(ctr/sub). When I turn my logitech controll center to input direct 6 channel direct, I do not get any sound out of my L or R surrounds. I have never had this setup up correctly with 5.1, so I would like to. Additional Comment: BTW: If I set the logitech controll to Effect stereo x2 it works for all speakers. How do I know I am getting 5.1 if it says stereo? This is how asus manual says to connect Last edited by Maurice : 09-06-2012 at 05:36 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
