System disk as USB device
I have a strange problem with USB devices. My Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit reports my internal SSD and hard drives (SATA) as USB devices see attached image. It seems to be quite dangerous as you can accidentally remove the system disk. Is there any way to remove internal SATA disks from the USB devices list? Thanks in advance! |

That doesn't mean they're reporting as USB drives. Just that they can be safely removed. SATA drives are hot-swappable. This is perfectly normal. I don't believe it will actually let you un-mount the system disk.

Well, it's nice to know that it is not possible to remove them.
However I have 2 similar PCs at home and the second one doesn't report SATA drives on this list. What makes the difference? |

You can change from AHCI mode to IDE mode but not the other way around... if you do, you will be prompted with a BSOD while system tries to load windows. |

I'm in AHCI and my internal drives don't show up as removable, maybe it's the chipset, never had that problem.
