Unofficially, ARMA II Free + Operation Arrowhead will work. OA can be found for $10-13

From that comment you implied it could be had for under $20...

When you said $10-13 I thought you meant you knew where. Thats still $20 in the link as well as Amazon and steam, and GMG. I am not going to drop 20 on it.

last week steam had a sale, you could get both keys for $15. :P Right now you can get the OA key from steam for $20.

@urbanfox do you have a clan or something on your server? I'm at the point where I need to do something with people rather than shoot them. ^.^

I wouldnt play ARMA 2 by itself so it wouldnt matter for both keys. But I wish it was a bit cheaper somewhere. This mod looks so cool

I was just online. I logged out last night at the top of the construction building in east cherno. there is nothing of value to the average player there, so it makes a safe logout site. The only people that care about industrial spawns are people that are building a car and they are rare. Anyway, I heard gunshots over by the medical tents. Now, I should have listened to the inner pansey in me and left. however I have a pair of swinging brass grapefruits, so I go check it out. I sneak to the top of the hospital adjacent to the tents, I see one person running around them. I hear someone climbing up the ladder, so I go prone and pull out my ak74. as soon as he get to the top I blow him away. Like a noob, I goto loot his body, and as I do I hear someone come up the other ladder. I turn and fire, breaking the guys legs, but his first shot pops my skull like a watermelon.

game over. again. (or so I thought)

I respawn WEST of komorovo. Literally I the west edge of the map on my left. My inner monologue says "Well, if there's a bright center to the universe, you're on the planet that it's farthest from." quoting luke skywalker. So I just start running east. I get an axe in kamyshovo, some smoke grenades, little stuff. Before I realize it, I'm looting the church and firehouse, I walk out with a new shiney ak74 and I make my way back to the medical tents where I died. There were no less than TWO noob survivors. I ALMOST felt bad by shooting them. almost. They would have ax murdered me if I had turned and ran. I go back to the top of the hospital. the first person I killed was still there, as was my body, AND the guy that shot me was there too! YAY!

Everyone had AK's. so I left there with 5 cooked meat, FIFTEEN ak74 mags, 7 g17 mags and a g17.enough epi pens for 4 broken legs...

basically EVERYTHING except for a NVG or something similar. Next time I log in, I'm so leaving. I'm thinking about hanging around Prig. there are five vehicle spawn points near there, so I figure I might as well try for one.

I just got this game and mod yesterday night. Played day z for a little bit, but it is so hard to play it alone. especially not knowing the game or how it works at all (controls, etc.)

So I ended up playing some Arma 2 just to get use to everything. The game looks cool, but is extremely confusing to learn.

The learning curve is initially very steep, if only because ARMA's controls and mannerisms are completely different. After the initial "WTF" moment it's gets easy, though. It turns from worrying about controls or learning how to maneuver to scouting for gear and avoiding zombies/players.

that is exactly why I'm just playing arma 2 right now. so i only have to worry about the game and its controls rather than the added difficulty of no weapons, survival skills, and zombies.

Been playing the game for a bout a week now. Had a silenced m4a1, m24, and some crazy backpack with like 24 slots, but then I accidentally hit drop on the backpack and it disappeared along with my m24 and 5/6 clips for my m4 sd. Then I got killed while trying to play at night two guys were laying down and I only saw/killed one of them

My next life has been the easiest start ever though found an AKM w/ 3 mags, every type of medicine, nightvision, map, GPS, knife, matches, hatchet, bigger pack, and like 7 sodas all within an hour from a sequence of 11 dead bodies (one I killed) in electro and a heli crash outside of it

yea, i'm having trouble finding US311 on the server browser as well. trying multiple ways right now

well i finally found it, but it isn't letting me join. says i need 1.6.2.95417

anyone know a fix for this?

Install this: ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.c...uild_95417.zip

In your root folder, use the shortcut called "Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch".

Use that and add your start-up parameters.

As for finding a server, use the "filter" button and type what you are looking for.

well this sucks. i just found the motherload of start out equipment. a winchester rifle with plenty of ammo, a lot of heat packs, a cola, a nice bit of stuff. then the server restarts and everyone dies
