Going through and reinstalling now. Thanks for this short-list. I'll be updating Arma2 tonight and then installing OA.

Had a rather good run last night as I'd not played in a while.

Now is it just me or are the zombies a lot more "random"? Most of the zombies were rather useless/docile and didn't see me (granted I was playing at game time 8pm, so it was dark) - but then in others some of the Zombies would see you from miles away?

Anyway - I found a deer hunting spot and inside was the AK with a scope (Kobra?) and yeah, that was nice, not too loud and you could easily take zombies down.

I made my way to Electro approaching from the north - I stopped to investigate the electrical plant. Inside there were loads of AK's - now this is where a bug kicked in and p!ssed me off.

I clicked an AKM on the ground to give it a try vs the AK Kobra thinking it'd just leave the Kobra on the ground in its place - WRONG. It disappeared and took all the ammo I had for it too - and so now I have a big bad gun with no scope and no ammo.

Then a glitch and I fell off the rooftop.

Not good.

So I was playing most of this afternoon through 2am. I started in cherno and I just went nuts looking for a car today. As you can tell by the red line. I probably ran 50KM today. (TAKE THAT ETHIOPIA!) Anyway, NO car. however I did find FOUR tents in three locations. tent #1 next to the dam, not much except it had a lot of food/water. it had a lot of cooked meat, so I left my canned goods and took the meat. Because i'm a nice guy. Location #2 is actually 2 tents, I found completely by accident. I did make a video of what I found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfk1O4IM0Pg Location #3, HAD an AS50, some ammo, and another NVG. I ended up having to leave some precious stanang-SD rounds behind, but I think it was worth the trade. ^.^

So now I have TWO spare NVG's and a spare rangefinder. All I need now is a FREAKING CAR.

For the record, I did NOT save the tent. So hopefully on the next server restart, everything should come back. Then the people that put all that nice gear there, wont be the wiser and they will keep putting stuff in the tents!

I've been watching the 30 part guide by laststandgamers. For the most part i did well. Just running into survivors hurt me.

Did that hacker video not seem freaky.

Once the standalone releases I will play with you guys. I just hope my 1st Gen Quad core machine can hang haha. I have done so many builds the past few years but never had the need to make an iSeries desktop since the Q6700 has been running fine. I think I am going to replace my 4 ram sticks with 2gb modules however since they are WAY cheaper now than when I first built this thing. The 4gb will just get added to my home media server that I am in the process of setting up on Amahi.

well, if it makes you feel any better, i'm running a e8600 - dual core with a gtx 470, and the game runs fantastic on high setting with 1920x1200 resolution.


btw, you may be waiting quite a while for the stand alone.

Just started back and one saw me while i was crawling, of course it takes my guy 5 minutes to stand up he hits me, i'm out of bandages, all that raiding for nothing

Oh while playing a day or so ago, I came across a survivor in a supermarket. He had an alice pack and a hatchet (a very underrated weapon i might add) I'm standing there with the starting backpack and an AKM. The conversation went like this:

him: FRIENDLY!
me: I'm just starting too, nice bag. you get it here? is there another one?
him: only one I saw, my old one is in the back room.
me: that's a shame.
him: you ****.

Made my way back into a town got a doubled barreled shotgun then exchanged it for a lee enfield. It appears i'm right outside of a metropolitan area a big city of some sort. What server you guys in?

US311, the one that Urban has been running.

Lee Enfield is a good one I believe? I think it's one of the quieter rifles out there?

The Enfield is EXTREMELY loud, has a low clip count (10), and its rate of fire is slow.

HOWEVER... it is very deadly and accurate.

Must have been thinking something else then. I think what I picked up last night was an AKM, but not positive.
