MybadOmen's "Dimastech Bench Mod" (Dimas Box)
Hiya Guys and Girls, I am back again with yet another new build that i hope you all will enjoy as much as my Requiem ,Venom and Mass Effect 3 NZXT Switch 810 Builds. Index Will be in the 2nd Post of this Log to make viewing the Log more enjoyable. I have been doing allot of Case Mods lately, the ones you guys have seen and a few were for relatives so i really wanted to do something a little different. Also I am still not ready to release a Scratch build yet as i want that to be very special when i do. I have been Totally Fascinated of a company in Italy (Being Italian Myself) named Dimastech. I have seen the guy with the username Dimas doing some insane things with subzero cooling and building some crazy high quality Machines first. After noticing that i seen he also owned a company and as i mentioned it was Dimastech . One look one his website and i was blown away ! I was just going to go out and buy one of their benches as they are very reasonably priced and Extremely High Quality. But i decided on something else. Since i was already doing Sponsored builds i thought this would be the perfect chance to show the world Dimastech Benches but in my own special way. First off as i start all my Projects: Here is the Victim ! (Rads in Photo are not included with Bench) Now for The Sponsors that will be joining me on another exciting Build. Lets all give these guys a Huge Round of applause for making this build possible. http://www.dimastech.it/EN/ http://www.lepatek.com/eng/product_list/3/ http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ http://www.primochill.com/ http://www.nzxt.com/new/ http://www.mod-smart.com/products/ More Sponsors may be joining also i hope. Update 3
A package arrives from EKWB and as always they have been backing me up on my Projects and im Honored and Proud to stand behind their name and Products. Here is my EK stuff that i have at camp with me and as you can see i use only EK Cooling in my builds. (Some bought and some Sponsored) Here is the box that arrived for this Dimastech Build .Unfortunately its not the new CSQ design do to the build started before CSQ was ready but hopefully EK will still be with me for my next Mod which i have a feeling will be another NZXT. CSQ or not its still EK and i love both designs so lets see what they sent for this build. A big brown Box all the way from Slovenia to the USA. What could it possibly be ! Wow this is where it all starts. Those shiny little boxes will soon be a killer water cooling system pushing 6 cores / 12Threads to 5ghz or more we hope. And here it is all Spread out and I realized i forgot something which was more G1/4 Fitting extensions. I asked for another 20 and he sent 30 just in case. A+ Service. At this point in time i have moved to Camp for 5 months where i live and also Mod here during that time. And another Brown box From EK and once again all the way from Slovenia to New Hampshire USA this time. And inside this one the rest of the stuff to complete the build that's needed from EK that is: So what we have for EK parts for this build is: 1 EK HF Supreme CPU Block Nickel/Plexi 1 EK HF Supreme Bracket in Nickel (to swap out the original Black one) x2 EK FC7970 Blocks Nickel/Plexi x2 EK 7970 Ram plates in Black as that's the only color they made at the time x2 EK D5 Pump tops x2 EK XTX 360 Rads (These things are huge) x2 EK-Multioption RES X2 - 250 Advanced Reservoirs x2 EK X4 Dominator Ram Blocks Nickel/Plexi 1 EK-FB KIT RE4 Nickel/Plexi (Motherboard blocks for the RIVE) 1 EK Indigo extreme kit roughly 50 fittings (Compression/45's,90's extensions) If i left anything out i will edit the post later . And here is some of the Hardware on as i tested the new motherboard right away when i got it. (All blocks are not on in the photo) And here is where you can get your own EK products including their new improved CSQ Line ! http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ Take Care and see you next update. As i mentioned earlier i will try to show all parts going into the build and then me using them. I figured this is the best way if your interested in building a Mod and curious how to do ,where to get parts, different methods of building etc. Lets all give EKWB a huge thank you for supporting me on this project. Keep watching as there will be plenty of Modding soon enough to watch. Take Care MybadOmen |

UPDATE 6 !
Ok i have been doing a little work on the hardware part of the build but still cant do much until Acrylic arrives as the base of the build is the Acrylic . Thank being said i pulled out the Motherboard for the Project which is the Asus Rampage Extreme IV X79 and the 3930K CPU i will also be running in this build. The hardware has already been tested just to make sure i wasn't going to get any surprises after it was to late to return to where i bought them from. (I highly recommend this to anyone doing a build like this or any build for that matter). First off here is the Motherboard with the CPU sitting in it : Next was to get a CPU Water block and that was an EK HF Supreme Sponsored by EK as is all the EK stuff you see in this build. But i didnt like this Black bracket so i also ordered one in Nickel to match the rest of the fittings and blocks. The Black Bracket that had to Go! And a couple Photos of the CPU block after the new Nickel bracket has been installed. (If thinking of changing this bracket ,realize that the block does have to come apart and the o-ring will need to be cleaned and re installed so its not a simple task to change it.) Ok so the CPU block was all set and CPU was Mounted and of course i have photos ove everything but the Thermal paste instillation . I use all Methods but for this mount i went with the X pattern. Also i added the nice new Set of Dominator Ram Blocks from EK for my 16 gig of 2133 Quad Channel C9 Ram and Installed them on the board for testing that the hardware did work. Photo's of the EK Ram blocks and CPU block mounted: (Starting to look pretty nice now) Next here at the 2 Sapphire (Reference) HD7970's that will be pushing the graphics in the Dimastech build. Both Fitted with EK Nickel Plexi Blocks. These will also be tested at the same time. And everything sitting in the old "Venom" case as it was basically all still together and easy to get testing the hardware right away. Allot of glare from this photo so best i could do. Ok now the hardware has been tested its time to tear it all apart again and get 2 more blocks on that Rampage Extreme IV and thats the matching Nickel Plex EK Mosfet and Chipset blocks. But that will be the next Update. Thank You EKWB & Primochill for making this Update Possible ! Keep watching tons to come and im sure this is gonna be a good one ! MybadOmen |

Update 7 !
This Update i will be adding the Mosfet and Chipset Blocks from EK to the motherboard. I wanted it to be kinda a tutorial but it was late at night and photos came out terrible so i will do the best i can with what i have: Again like i would like to Thank EKWB for Sponsoring me on my builds. First off this is where we left off after testing the board and pushed it to 5Ghz on all 12 Threads so pretty sure the hardware is in great shape. (Actually ran the setup for roughly 1 weak) Here is the Stock Mosfet Block we will be swapping to the EK-FB RE4 Mosfet Nickel Plexi water block.: And here is the stock chipset cooler that will also be replaced with the same EK kit. And here are the 2 absolutely beautiful water blocks from the EK-FB RE4 KIT. I will be using MX4 Thermal Paste as that's what i have on hand right now. Most important to me to have on hand before starting are my Worry Dolls! So with them in hand we can get started ...LOL. Ok lets get started First off remove all the screws holding the blocks on the Motherboard. Its best to follow the manual just to be sure with hardware of this Value! Next you want to gently pull the old block assembly from the board not forgetting to unplug the chip-set fan first though . Sometimes these blocks can be a little tough to get off from the stock thermal Pads and compounds but this one came off pretty easy. |

And the naked board . (Sexy ) lol
K first we will start with cleaning the Mosfets ,new blocks and the old thermal paste from the chipset. There are different things you can use to clean i have seen everything from goo be gone to Alcohol to special cleaners made just for the task. Today i will just use Alcohol and cotton swabs and pads. (Sorry i didn't take Photos of the cleaning but its pretty common sense. You clean the spots the old blocks came off ![]() But here are the Pads i used and the Cotton swab we all know of. After cleaning the Mosfets real good i and others recommend a tiny bit of Thermal paste just to hold the Thermal pads which you will see in a minute in place. Again MX4 was used here and it should look like this. (Barely any at all on each) Here are those thermal pads i was talking about. It comes as 1 Pad and is used only on the Mosfet Block. First thing you want to do is cut it evenly in half. There is a backing on the both sides so DO NOT forget to remove this or it will make quite the mess and could seriously damage your board! Now just nice and neatly cover the Mosfets. It should look something like this when you are done: Horrible Picture but next apply thermal paste to your freshly cleaned Chipset: Next part its important to read the manual that Came with your EK kit because some revisions may require to use different screws as EK is always changing and Improving their products! So at this point its best to get all your hardware setup and handy as you are going to have to hold the block in place and turn the motherboard to get the screws in. This is why we put the tiny drops of thermal paste on the chipsets ,so the Thermal pads stay in palace during this step! A friend nearby would be very handy for this part but i was not that lucky as everyone was sleeping. Hardware Ready to go! Next set the Chipset Block in Place trying to line it up perfect the first shot with the screw holes to avoid making a mess of the fresh thermal paste you just applied. Carefully hold the board on its side and apply the screws. (I found the Motherboard Box foam helped for this part to avoid hurting the board) Now we are going to repeat the same steps for the Mosfet block besides 1 difference. On the back of the Mosfet block we will be replacing the stock back plate that came with the original Mosfet block. So apply the screws while on its side just like with the chipset and it should look like a motherboard complete with EK Liquid Cooled Mosfet and Chipset! Next you can add your other blocks if you chose to go that route, depending on ram etc. Which in my case i will be adding Ram blocks and Gpu blocks Hope i did an alright job on this Mosfet and Chipset water block instillation. Like i said i did my best with what i had for Photos. I had over 160 Photos .Lol these are the best i could get from them. Also for those of you looking to get yourself some nice Water blocks or other high Quality water cooling parts here is the company i swear by and use on all my builds for blocks and Fittings. http://www.ekwb.com/shop/ Thanks For watching guys and as usual for all your support you have given me through many builds so far.I will try and make you all proud again with this build. Lol once the Raw materials get here so i can go crazy on it. Take Care MybadOmen |

Update 8 !
Hiya Guys and sorry for the delay with updates. Its as frustrating to me as it is to you guys trust me. A few things are held up at the moment that is slowing me down a bit but pretty soon i should be good to go (Lets Hope). Anyway i did get 1 thing out of the way that was a real hassle and that was i wanted to run all EK blocks but staying True to EK and only using their fittings. I ran into problem after problem trying to get it right using mainly 45 degree and 90 degree angles with a few extensions. It was like a puzzle that just didn't look right any way i put it.Finally i got it to where i like it and i think it looks half decent and once the Gpu's are both in it should look really good. The GPUs will be set up where the top card is blocked on the top with 2 plugs, then there will 2 short pieces of tubing and 4 fittings between the cards to match the top nicely. The entrance and exit to the GPU's will come from below the bottom card. 1 GPU i am using till its time to actually install it so here is what is set up now. Please let me know your Opinions . Not really an Exciting update of some cool Mod but all these small details will be important in the end to make the final build look really nice. Hope you Like it. And keep watching or subscribe if you haven't yet . Take Care MybadOmen |

UPDATE 9 !
Acrylic Laser cutting is done and now here ready to go. There will be more work done to the Acrylic but that i will do in house. Huge Thanks goes out to Tyler Industries for there great Acrylic work. Also the 2 custom Primochill CTR reservoirs have arrived. These reservoirs are not yet released and have been made to a custom length or 24 inches long for the build by Primochill. Release Date on the Primochill CTR Reservoirs is Nov 1st and i have been messing with them for a while now and they are very high quality and incredible looking reservoirs. Photo of one of them as the other is in the box to avoid getting damaged as i work. Also have been messing with different color coolants from Primochill's new "Intensifier" Product line. These Dyes are amazing from what i have seen so far. here are a few samples i made just messing around but i still haven't decided for sure the final color going into the JukeBench build. Here is a white which was made by adding 2 15mil Primochill Intensifier Base bottles to a whole gallon of distilled. (Only 1 15 mil bottle of Base if going to color it , 2 bottles is just for white) Photo of the white in action (Could easily make more white or less white ) Pink anyone? Just a light pink as i was messing around before changing coolant colors.I was aiming for Pepto Bismal color just for fun. This Blue came out really cool also but wont be the color for the JukeBench. Well that really it for this Update but getting the Acrylic and special reservoirs is Huge as thats what i needed to move on with this build. So Keep watching. Also for more Info on the Primochill CTR Reservoirs or the Amazing new Intensifier Dyes that i totally fell in love with see here : http://www.primochill.com/ Take Care my friends at OCN and please subscribe if haven't already. MybadOmen Additional Comment: Update 10! Been busy all weekend working on JukeBench mostly Acrylic work. Didn't finish in time for the update i was planning on as some dimensions are a little off and its my own fault of course .. Really not a big deal just a little bit of cutting to do.Here are some of the design dimensions but i have changed them allot for the final Build as in the name will be changed and the way the top and sides are mounted will be different. Anyway here's the dimensions of JukeBench: I will try and get this weekends UPDATE up as soon as possible. It seems every time i get moving on it something comes up and i get delayed again. But as i said before this build is in no rush and will end up being my own personal Bench. Take Care guys and will get you that Update soon as possible. MybadOmen Last edited by MybadOmen : 11-04-2012 at 05:20 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

UPDATE 11 !
Hiya Fellow Modder's /Overclocker's/Folder's and Gamers. As promised i am back to release another update one the JukeBench build. I didn't sleep at all through the night just so i can finally get some progress going to show you guys. Even though like i said there is no rush on this Mod. Ok i will stop blabbing and get right to it. This update is me starting to build the actual Jukebox base onto the Dimastech bench. Here is the bench all stripped down again ready to Mod and then paint. Ant the Acrylic is sitting on tops with a protective layer on it all. Just thought id mention that before people ask why i am using wood. Materials: First thing i had to do was make a way to Squish the Acrylic between a piece of Aluminum which will strengthen the acrylic so it don't crack and just help to keep it sturdy. Also i wanted it to be removable if i ever wanted to remove it. This is what i did: I first needed a 2 1/2" wide by 16 3/4" long aluminum plate for each side. So i measured that out to make a base line to go by on both sides. These dots represent 2 1/2" plus they are also in a particular spot for what you will see in a bit. Clamping the ruler assures a nice straight line by avoiding any movement drawing on long runs. Here im about to cut the 2 1/2" x 16 3/4" Aluminum plates from this sheet of Aluminum. Always wear safety glasses like the ones you see me using, as i have been in the hospital on more then on occasion with metal in my eye. Not fun. By the way these are the best safety glasses i have ever worn and you can get your own set at Mnpctech and they are incredibly inexpensive and also very High quality. Link to Safety Glasses from Mnpctech : http://www.mnpctech.com/Safetyglasses.html Ok Just Marking the measurements out: And finally off and Modding. I used that guide on the jigsaw 2 times and ended up having to finally cute then freehand. 2 nice pieces of Aluminum. For those that don't know Aluminum can be wet sanded and polished to look very similar then chrome. But its better then chrome ![]() Just lining them up but wont finish them till the end so i don't scratch them up: |

These are the holes that will go through the Aluminum and Acrylic and the Bench will be threaded.
This always scares me is drilling through thin acrylic. To fast of the bit grabs . Big Crack.. Luckily all went smooth.. Ok there is a photo missing here . It should have been me drilling the Bench holes out but. I had the camera in 1 had and drill in the other.Dropped the drill and broke the bit. So no photo .Lol Speaking of breaking things. This is what happens sometimes when trying to tap without cutting oil. I am painting the case shortly so i don't want any oils near the Bench at all. Success ! and yes those are the long hard drive screws that usually have a rubber grommet. Worked perfect for this. Just to show how sturdy it is this way .The bench is on its side and the acrylic isn't really to light but its also a success so far. Starting to look like something. You can see in this Photo my design was a little flawed but just a few minute fix. This will be the Back of the bench with a 220mm Exhaust Fan. Remember this build isn't just cute its also a Monster! And no i didn't sniff it. Lol anyway the Acrylic Glue (Will have to sit for 24 hours before moving on ) Can you see her in your head yet? Omg i hope she keeps looking better and better. Ok here is the last Photo for this update. Before i post it i want to tell a little story. I was reading build logs randomly like i always do and i came across this guys building Phase changers or something crazy insane. His username was Dimas. I started following his work and started seeing more and more of his Benches. I fell in love with the Easy/Hard 2.5 bench which is what you see me Modding. Anyway i found out it was Italian made. Come on everything Italian made is incredible quality. I cant remember how it actually happened but they seen i loved the bench and somewhere along the line i ended up Building a Sponsored Dimastech Bench which was a nice break from doing case. Plus i never hardly game i Benchmark and Overclock and thats about it mainly. I do play the campaigns on most new games though. Anyway when i got my sponsors this is what i was going to Build. (Those who know me ,know i change everything right in the middle of a build sometimes) Anyway this one i really changed and im sure i will more before its over. First Design : I know some of you are probally saying wow that would have been cool. And yes it would have but not unique enough for me. JukeBench is perfect because it makes no sense at all.. A Total beast of a PC that can handle LN2 ,DICE or just hefty watercooling and i wrapped in in a funky jukebox. But the Jukebox is set to the RoG theme for colors. Anyway just thought id tell you guys a little story about the build since you had to wait so long for an Update. Last Photo.. Thank You Dimastech !!! Welders up and running with a brand new spool of good wire ,Replaced my Air compressor so that's ready to go . So Stay Tuned Much More Modding to Come ! Don't forget to check out my New Phantom 820 Mod that i will be doing the same time as this one. I'll be back soon my Friends so stay safe and take care... Update 12!
This update is just short and sweet its a Photo of the base pretty much together to start building off of. Board in the center was just for support till the glue was fully cured. It has since been removed. ![]() And of course the update wouldn't be complete if i didn't show the heart and soul of this monster JukeBench and that's the Asus Rampage Extreme IV X79 fitted with an i7-3930k and 16 Gigs of Quad channel Corsair Dominator's C9 2133mhz. Also as you seen in photos about its fitted with every water block imaginable from EK.Also to add to the Horsepower is a Pair of HD7970 Gpus at 1250/1750. Seriously tell me this don't look like a v8 getting ready to go in a street rod Can tell where my background was before PC's.And here it is the belly of the beast : ![]() Hope you guys like it so far ..Keep watching for more soon. Update 13!
Getting ready to drill the holes and cutouts to mount the new parts i got from Mnpctech. I got 2 PC Mod Digital Thermometer's to give me the ambient temps inside the JukeBox part of the build and the other one to give me either the outside ambient temps or inside where the rads and PSU will be sitting. (Most likely outside the case Ambient) And because the will look cool on the Mod of course ..Also i will also be adding the Popular Billet Machined Aluminum Case Feet from Mnpctech to the bottom of the bench to give it a really cool look.I love the small details like that it really sets a build apart. This will be my first time using these feet but i seen them on many builds and had to have them. Here is a quick Peek of them before i start Installing them . ![]() You can get all sorts of Modding supplies from the guys at Mnpctech as they are Hardcore Modder's themselves and know what we need. For the Mnpctech website just click the banner: Be back soon with the updates of me installing them. Take Care guys and please remember doing 2 Mods and a Client build at the same time and its only me here with limited tools. But im doing my best. MybadOmen |
