Boot MGR SSD load problems

Just got thru reloading Win 7 on M4 128G SSD and no probems.
Loaded all my apps and all work and began updating.

Hooked up 640G mech drive and no problems.
SSD with OS 1st boot and WD 640 2nd boot, Although showing up as Re-movable drive.

After win startup would not boot into windows and showing,
(BOOT MGR Missing) and wont load into windows.

Tried both drives, Same thing.(Boot Mgr Missing)

Tried putting Win 7 install disc in and booting to it to repair and will
not boot to the install disc.
Tried everything I know but doesn't work.

Can get to Bios and make changes and at exit won't load Win.
Was working great with new load.

Need my main rig back

Help appreciated.

If you unplug the spinner will it boot? Did you pick AHCI in the BIOS for SATA? Seems somwthing went wrong when you installed the spinner; was it IDE originally?

As to spinner I guess you mean Mech HD?

Before loading OS on SSD I set the drive up as ACHI and shows
as that.
Didn't want to play registry games after install to set it back from IDE.

Loaded OS on the SSD with no other drives plugged in.
Loaded OS and had done most of my upgrades to it as to Chipset,Video, ect. and worked fine.
Then after one reboot problem started

Then plugged in the Mech drive drive and it showed up also as Drive F.
But curiously showed up as Removable drive.

Now can't even get past the Bios and before it loads to Win the message comes up showing Boot MGR missing.
On either drive.

If could just find a way to boot to the Win Install disc would just do
a repair or reload from the win disc.

Thanks guys, Will keep trying to figure it out.

Are we dealing with Win7, you need to be in AHCI mode when using the ssd drive as a boot drive so you should have played the registry games. Could also be that the boot partition is on the wrong drive, it's a common mistake to load win7 without disconnecting other hard drives, do that and the win7 boot partition can end up on the wrong drive.

If your not using Win7 then you have a different problem, have you more than one OS on these drives, does the ssd boot into windows without the WD drive connected, try running the repair with just the ssd connected. Make sure the ssd is connected to the first sata position 0.

Win 7.
Any time I load OS I pull all other drives out.
Will not even boot to Win. Shows Boot MGR missing.

Was running fine while I was updating win.

Upon one reboot problem came up.
Sata connection correct and even tried other ports.

Thanks.

It's looking more like the boot partitions become corrupted somehow, is the ssd recognized as a data drive.

I'd unplug the spinner, re-install Win 7 (don't update Win 7 yet, and don't connect to the net), and then install each driver one at a time and reboot each time. You may have gotten a bad driver or picked the wrong one, and you need to find it.
