I'd have to say, not a high priority. Will be giving this one a miss, except if I buy a new laptop.

If I get my hands on a touch monitor and turn that bad boy into a table, W8 might just be a happening thing. Otherwise, W7 FTW.

Already running it home thanks to my Partner and MSDN accounts I love it so far. I'd upgrade here at the office, but the don't want a Win 8 rig on the domain yet...

Eh, set it up to skip metro on startup, disable the hot corners, and put in a startmenu. It's a snappier windows 7 now.

I can see how this works - now everyone says they will not be getting Windows 8, but a few months down the line we will have tons of members who will report on their new Windows 8 experiences.

When Vista came out, it was the same. People shunned it for being a slow resource hog with no advantage over XP, yet when it was out for a few months, tons of people switched and a lot were actually happy.

It's the cost of continually updating operating systems, most of those win8 so called improvements could have been made with the current win7, Microsoft have found a way of getting us to part with our money, by major updates over a shorter period of time, for me having a operating system that boots slightly quicker than the 11 seconds I get now or the need of a touch screen aren't good enough reasons for updating a OS system, I see no reason to update from win7 to win8.

Microsoft is looking at ways to part us and our money on a very regular basis with OSs and applications. They are stepping up "new release" timings. You will not see an OS lasting like XP did, or Office versions lasting for 4 years. IE 10, even though free, is coming with W8.

Eventually most here will update to Win 8. Hopefully M$, will provide an option to have a non metro ui. I don't like the idea of using third party apps to accomplish this. Heavy hitters in the gaming industry have spoken out, many consumers are speaking out, hopefully M$ will listen.

Window 8 enterprise evaluation, 90 day trial to anyone who wants to try it. It is the RTM Enterprise version, so it is has all the features that the Pro version has, and is the os that will be released.

I'll wait to see if there is really any reason to make the move. Right now though I don't see anything that would force me to go that direction. It looks like a crappier version of windows 7 from what I can see, just designed for tablets instead of the PC which is a negative for me.

I'm gonna install the pre release version or whatever it is as soon as it's downloaded and give it a go!

Think I'll do what xdownsetx has done as well.

I have been using it on an off my my dell dou. the tablet usage is actually really nice once you figure it out. I can see it being very nice to use on a decent tablet. Almost thinking about getting something once they are released.

Give it is spin, I liked it. I had to format since there is no activation for the professional version. I'm gonna use the 90 eval soon.

Is there any word on the pricing that's not an update?

If it's low enough, my student discount might make me want to jump on the upgrade and get used to the UI.
