I5-3570K & GA-Z77X-UD3H Memory Advice Please

I plan on upgrading and overclocking my cpu and motherboard for my gaming system in the next couple days. I would like some opinions on which memory to get for my board. I plan to have this system last me at least 2 to 3 years before doing another upgrade to my cpu and motherboard.

Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116504
(This one is $5 less then the 2500K with the promo code at the moment)

GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard (This board can hold up to 32 memory(4-8 Gig Sticks )
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128544
(I looked at the UD5H but I do not see myself making use of the extras on it)

I know I need at least 8 gigs of memory. I think 2 of the 4 Gig Sticks will do just fine (I do not think 1-8 Gig or 4-2 Gig sticks would be much difference).

Thinking about the future it might be better to pick up more memory now instead of later down the road. Do you think it would be wise to get 16 Gigs now ( 2-8 Gig Sticks or 4-4 Gig Sticks )

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, preferably from newegg to keep my order together unless the deal is too good to pass up.

P.S. I did some overclocking with water cooling back on the single cores, but avoided it on the duel and quads. This will be my first OC with the multi cores. I plan to just do a moderate OC on air with my Hyper 212+. If some thinks I need a better heatsink for Air Cooling you can toss that out there too, thanks again.

Well, rumor has it that Intel Haswell will be moving to DDR4 memory so don't think I'd go overboard on memory. Here's 8GB (2 x 4GB) at a good price/performance point, $46 free shipping: G.SKILL Ripjaws X DDR3 1600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231428
For moderate OC the 212+ will be OK. You might consider the Corsair H80 or H100.

Just a little something from wikipedia about Haswell, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_H...rchitecture%29
DDR 4 will only be supported for server/enterprise. That of course, is subject to change.

I do agree that the H80, or H100 is the way to go for cooling, unless the op wants to to spend the money for a custom loop. Imo, the 212 won't cut it.

It depends on his expectations for the overclock as to whether something as pricey as the H80 or H100 is needed.

4Ghz would be plenty cool with the 212. Even up to 4.2-4.4 if the CPU is good.

As for ram, Ive yet to come close to needing 8GB, even though I have 16GB, and planning to move to 32GB soon (just so all 8 dimms on my X79 are full, just for appearance reasons )

Those are about the best sticks on the market now. They dont look like much, but can OC to 2400Mhz on average, 2800Mhz for the really good sticks. While keeping voltage under 1.6V, and having nice timings too.
