Your score is about 1,000 points lower than a rig with a fully utilized 470.

There are a few chips at 2.6Ghz that will fully utilize a GTX470 but a Thuban isn't one of them.

I shorted out the usb controller on my asus m4n98td evo

so I bought an asrock 970 extreme4 and haven't been able to get it to be stable with any overclock as of yet

any way to boost the score cheaply and effectively??

If you still have the evo just buy a PCI USB adapter.
