Yay ive just got HL2

Finally, after a long wait its mine!

Straight away playing CS.
I havent played it yet its taking ages to "decrypt the HL2 files".

What are you saying theres something wrong with my system cause its taking so long?

I had a game of CS and it was pretty good. a little laggy though.

Would 1 gig make a huge difference over 512mb? Cause i might order 1 Gig of G.Skill if it does. But not just for this, for other games too.

Word.. 1 gig will help alot bro. It's kinda the norm to have 1 gig for games now adays. So, having 512 of ram is old school. Except when benching of course.

Yeah i know, its just, getting the money you know? lol. I think i will get some more ram first THEN a new PSU. I need it abit more.

I can definatly tell its my ram slowing me down not my graphics card, cause in HL2, (great gameplay btw, im amazed so far), it only lags before big things happen, and only a little, but it is noticable. for example, before a huge explosion and stuff, it stops for a split second as if its loading. but apart from that its very smooth.

I love this game so far. CS is amazing aswell. I think i might ask for a new mouse for christmas, MX something or other...

The MX series is good. I have MX1000 wireless and it's been good to me so far.

em, man I need a nwe rig. I can play hl2 but its way ugley and lags badly when lots of stuff starts to happen....and have to close everything and even explorer to get smooth play.

oh yeh ,and its particularly bad when in the buggy

Well, i was thinking about a wired one. But optical.

I have optical and wireless at the moment and in CS it just doesnt feel right... It feels wierd and as though im not in control, and i have to set the speed to 6 as minimum...

Plus it sucks the *** out of battery life. (on mine anyway).

No idea of model or anything though.

I think i might get the razer diamondback mouse.

lol I am saving up...but its taking forever...
and then there is the idea of taking a trip to japan/asia sometime in 1 yr or 2 yrs from now, to see if my future lies there,
either that, or a new pc, but the trip seems more sensible

its still ****ed, cuz id be like, travelling there myself not knowing anyone and speaking only a bit

hey, what are your video settings on? I put mine on all highest(except AA and AF, which were on 2x) and it lagged a bit when a lot happened, so I dropped it down a bit, to this.

Well you could start you own PC business thing like me. First take your PC and sell it for something decent. Sell it to anyone. Hehe..
Then with the extra money you made from it, buy yourself a better PC than the previous one. Then build that one up and sell it for a profit aswell. Then build a even better PC with that money and sell it again....and so on and so on and so on.....That's what i do anyway. I stop when i reach my "Goal PC". It's worked for 3 years now. honest

Wireless MX with charger kicks serious a$$. Not only is it wireless and a charge keeps it going for days and days but it is one of the most comfortable and well laid out mice there is. I highly recommend.

Man i keep playing CS. Its not lagging too much anymore. I think its abit on my hard drive too. its completely full (i had to delete stuff for HL2) and i drefragged for ages. But its not really lagging too much, if any anymore.

I turn shadows to low, cause i dont see the point in them, im never in one place long enough to admire them really and they take quite abit of resources. I think.

I suck *** at CS but its really fun. I hope if i keep playing i will get better. I just got 5/16 on my last game i played lol.

Definetly you need 1 GB of ram...My experience would have been better if I had had 512 more...It just makes you so mad when it slows down...And trust me if it was only a split second you wouldnt notice lol
