What are the best ocing s754 and s939 mobos?

Ok well im either going to get a s75$ Or a s939 system, i dunno which. I think i can get my dad to spend up to 230 dollars probably, MAYBE just MAYBE up to 270 possibly

Now if i were to get a s939 i dunno which i would GET besides a 3000 winnie, i dunno which mobo is good and would cost around 270 with the proc

I threw my 3000+ in a guy's MSI K8N Neo 2 that just returned from being RMAed and only maxed at 2.6ghz, unstable. They're good boards, but not the best. Just look at the best scores: DFI. On the Intel side, a guy got 7.2ghz. On AMD, a guy got 43k in 3DMark2001 using the SLI version of the board I use. Just recently, someone got 4ghz using the same board as the other.

its only around $130 and the proc is around that too. So it should fit in your budget.

Is this mobo good?
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...136-152&depa=0

I know DFI was up there in overclocking with Abit in the socket A days.
I noticed it has 2 pci-e 16x slots, can this be modified to sli?

That's the board I have, I love it to death. There is a mod to change it to SLI, but nVidia was said to have taken actions to prevent this mod, although I can't find anywhere on Google that someone hasn't been able to because of it.

If you definately want SLI, just get the SLI-D. I got the Ultra-D because it's the same overclocking potential as the DFI SLI boards, just with no official SLI support.

Not interested in SLI, but hey modding is fun.

you either mounted incorrect or you a really weak fan on it, the SP97 is much better than the TT Volcano and the XP90 is much better the TT Venus.
