Did you use a software overclocking program? (clockgen, softfsb, etc?)

I don't know how this happened \/\/\/\/\/

Then clear your CMOS. On your mobo is a jumper that must be switched. OR, simply remove the little battery. Disconnect the power cord before you do it though.
Oh.......either way, count to ten and then put the jumper/battery back where it was. Plug it in and boot it up.

Well I don't know what you're doing wrong. That northwood is a known huge overclocker. System specs might help (ram, psu, core stepping).

Have you tried increasingthe volts while you are OCing?

Raise the Bus till it crashes or is unstable increase the volts till its stable... increase the Mega Hurts till its unstable.. .increase the voltage til its stable.

I am crazy and do it the otehr way... but its st0pid. I max the volts and then see how high I can crank it then bring the speed down a little and see how far I can drop the volts..

HT is only "faster" when you have multiple threads running. If you are just using a single thread, say for gaming, HT wouldnt matter wouldnt it?

But you will prob have other programs running anyway, such as windows services or xfire. These add up and you will begin to see differences.

Not true at all. Only things that are actively using th CPU would you notice. Such as running superpi while compiling a C program

Most windows services run at startup and then hardly ever after that...

Netburst / HT was a makeup to fix a flaw in the intel processors tsk tsk

sounds almost like a power issue - most of the time, random reboots happen because you're not getting enough stable power to the OC'd component, whether it be RAM, CPU, etc.

I'd check the voltages in the BIOS, and maybe try another program to test them out to see how stable the rails are. If any of them are going out of spec more than allowed, it's most likely your culprit.

What brand power supply are you using anyways?

try clockgen... make sure you find the right one for your system... it may allow you to up your V

I fin d it usseflu for diagnosing V to HTT issues on m system so I do not have to make BIOS changes a billion times...

(though clockgen is not perfect you will get better perf outta bios changes then clockgen changes, dont ask me why...)
