what is all the fuss?

today i decided to install a game that has been hangin around in my collection for a while now,and goes by the name of battlefield 2.yeah,you probably all of heard of it by now,and read all of those great reviews with high scores given (which i based my purchase of the game on) and i installed the patches, played the dull single player game to get used to the controls, and decided to take it online.
To be honest with you,it is the most boring, lackluster, rubbish i have ever layed my hands on.now some ppl may have different opinions about what they enjoy playing, but i dont understand what all the fuss is about?there is some realy great online games that have had some bashing from the critics, and have scored very low.but battlefield 2 has been praised by every review and source i have read.
i think what cheesed me off was that i never realy had a great single player experience(which i enjoy),but instead got a half baked simulation of what you realy experience online!i would of prefered some sort of campaign to keep busy with, but noooo.
does the expansion pack 2142 do the game any justice at all?coz i like mechs and s**t

Of course BF2 Singleplayer is crappy, the Battlefield series is meant to be a multiplayer game. It was never ever meant for singleplayer use. BF2142 isnt an expansion, its a whole new game. Its alright but gets boring once youve unlocked most of the stuff.

Never played BF 1942 or BF 2, but i have BF 2142. It's alright i suppose. There's really nothing futuristic about it, the rifles are all still using ballistics, still suffer from stuff like bullet drop at long range, most things *new* that's in the game could be accompished using last century technology, and even the ones that can't have no practical use - floating tanks anyone ? The vehicles are complete crap with bog standard cars and tanks, none of the vehicles are very fast, and going up a 5 degree incline in most of them results in the same effect you'd expect if the vehicle is going up a vertical wall - there's no torque or power, the land vehicles are **** even for today's vehicles. There are air vehicles, namely the air transport and the gunship. Transport takes troops places, but is painfully slow and weak imo. The gunship, i like - kinda like a harrier in bf2 i'd expect - fast, maneouverable, moderate firepower. There are quite a few bugs and glitches, like sentry bots shooting through walls, but that's to be expected in any EA game

All that said and done, i'm enjoying it, for the teamwork aspect more than anything. It's awesome to see people working together to accompish tasks, nothing of the sort would ever happen on counterstrike

It's ok - never saw it as anything to live and breathe on - and even when the sudden urge to play hits, I go to play and have to wait for another patch that doesn't fix anything . . . I dunno. It's got some good aspects to it - but it's essentially a ranked BF1942 using today's tech.

I'd honestly play BF1942 over this in any LAN situation . . . and if more people realized how amazing BF:V actually was - well the world would be a better place.

Wing riding the big plane on El Alamein in BF1942 is greatest thing ever. I lost interest in the series after the first expansion. I'm still waiting for them to fix BF1942, let alone BF1942's expansions... BF2... BF2's expansions... BF2142... BF2142's expansions...

the BF series is the one of the most easy to make at least a cheesey single player. The potential was great, but they never and will never do it. **quake wars, hopefully will take care of that

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will not include a single-player mode. The only fun thing to do in single-player BF2 is use a mod to make maps with 100+ NPCs.

Not in pubs, no. Join a team and scrim/play matches. Competitive CS is about as teamwork oriented as you can get.

I always thought the Battlefield games were boring as hell, but that's just me.

Don't ask why unless you want to join them.
Funny, BF2 is probably my all time fav. I like it because it rewards teamwork more than it does twitchy fingers.

if your any good you get rewarded and it doesnt take long for other players to want to add you as a buddy. once your asked into a clan of skillfull tactical players its a right game. i wouldnt want to be on the other side though .... i have about 6 - 10 deaths per round but some people average around 40 so for them the game must be pretty monotomouse. die.. shoot like a noob... die... shoot like a noob... die... ect..........
