colored translucent plastic sheets?

Highlighters.
Use highlighters, and just paint a film over the bottom of it. |

I do a similar mod for people at work with headunits (so the deck's lights will match the dash of their cars)

i see. ill see if i can find other places that do small volumes. maybe ill just buy a sharpie highlighter and color the 4 smd leds instead.

Don't even bother with a sharpie highlighter, just do it with a sharpie IMO
Edit Or just pick up some glass paint and touch-up the led's |
