I apologize for Newegg being very difficult to use.

Or the internet, for that matter.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...20DDR2%20SDRAM

4gb kits at NE, cheapest one is $75-$15 rebate, similar prices at zzf and tiger direct, zzf has a bunch of memory at the good 'ol prices but its all out of stock, everything in stock is $17-$20+ a gig

Additional Comment:

noticed it today when I was checking out the latest newegg email ad, they had a 2gb stick of value ram for like $41.99 and I was like WTF I paid less than that for 4gb of high performance junk

Borderline sane price for a 2x2 kit.

Noticed the same thing here. A stick of GENERIC DDR2 2GB used to cost around 20$, now it's up to 37$

Used prices have gone up as well. Used to be, one could buy 4GB of ddr800 ram for $25 after rebates at the egg if one were willing to wait for a couple for a weeks for a deal to show up.

On the positive side, I just picked up 12GB of OCZ ddr3-1600 ram for my new i7 rig for $150 shipped (used at [H]). Far cry from the $300 I paid for 2x512MB of OCZ PC3700EB back in 2004 (still have it).

I could be wrong, but think it's due to them pushing ddr3 now scaling back on ddr2 production, since ddr3 is now cheaper to produce. Think of it like the shift from ddr to ddr2 as ddr2 got cheaper an ddr became more expensive.
