Where to buy an "Active Display port adapter"

So I've got my HD5850 on the way, and I'm wondering where I can buy an active display port, known to work with the 58XX range. I know Dell has one, but I would prefer not to support them, as I hate them.

Sorry to say but IIRC it's Dell or bust Why don't you like Dell? I just bought 3 of thier 1920 X 1080 displays (because of Eyefinity and I wanted the Native DP) and I love them, they might even have a better picture then my Sammy's did

One is powered and allows for the extreme resolutions Eyefinity has to offer. IIRC the passive adapter can only support like 3840X1200 so with three screens the overall res is to high. I tried the passive adapter on my setup first and I could only use two screens with it

They're monitors are fine as far as I'm concerned, and so are most of their other products. But when it comes to tech support, I like to know they're not going to be like "We have your money, so we won't help you". Not going to go into details, but I no longer recommend them to people who want to buy a manufactured PC.

Looks like it's my only option though.

You can get one from Apple, I believe they will sell it to you.

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB...Y&s=topSellers

I can't figure out where to get a Female Mini DisplayPort to Male DisplayPort cable at from Apple though.

Here is where you can see how Maxishine did Eyefinity with his setup.

There must be somewhere in aus they can be found though, surely...

He's looking for an adapter, not a monitor.

Might be worth doing what I did, unload your current displays and go with new Dell ones I sold my old Samsungs for $400 and then bought the Dell's for $600 so in the end I spent under hundred bucks and got all new displays with a 3 year warranty since it would have cost me over $100 for the stupid adapter anyway

if u need that adapter from dell or apple, id go with new displays like AT said, but if you really want that dell adapter, im sure someone here would offer to buy it for you and ship it to au at your expense if you're that desperate. is eyefinity really all that attractive?
